Street Dates are the stupidest idea ever. We have this stuff, we just can't sell it for a month.

They are being crafty by putting the rubbish stuff out 1st see if the excitement of the new can shift some of the "Future clearance fodder" (I.e. stuff aimed at the very young kids)..

Well keep in mind that in the past Target was the go to place for the movie stuff, heck they'd bring it out to you from the back on a silver platter which might end up being the case once they get their AOE stuff too, but for now I'm happy to do some hunting for what I can find :D

And so far the only sightings are for the flip and change toys right?

Yup! Just snagged Whirl at the Marion, IL TRU yesterday. And conveniently enough I had a $5 Rewards certificte. I saw Doubledealer as well, no Rhinox. Also just missed the Black Widow for the Captain America Legends 6" figures.

So much for me being able to buy the first wave of AOE deluxes (since I'm Canadian) and then being able to sell some to you guys and make a bit of proft.

Oh well, LET THE HUNT BEGIN!

And yet we complain when they trickle in. Rather than waiting until everyone is stocked.

Really makes me wonder if this "leaking" of the toys with every movie line is actually on purpose. The stores "accidentally" putting some stuff out for sale and getting it out there as a way of trying to trick Hasbro into lifting the street date. Dunno if that's actually worked or not though.

I guess its good for the collectors and fans, but just shows the lack of intelligence, or empathy of employees in general. I worked at a retail store from 1995-1998 (not wal-Mart btw...), and even then certain toys had "street dates" I remember in particular GODZILLA. Of course I got the toys for myself :)  but we made sure none went out onto shelves until the street date printed quite noticably on every box of merchandise

This would happen on my late 12 hour shift. 1930 can't come fast enough so I can go check my walmart! (Never thought THAT would be something Id say)

Probably about 95 percent of you saying your gonna go check your store are probably gonna be disappointed with nothing I bet. Happens, every movie year. A picture of movie toys getting leaked makes front page and before you know the whole board gets up to check the said store only to report that nothing is there.

I'll look at my Wally when I go tonight to pick up some stuff but I'm not going to hold my breath. Even if I do find something, their computers will probably block them from selling it to me.

Not true. If there is a street date that's put into the system, not even the Store Manager can override it and Walmart can face a fine if they sell it anyway.

And lazy this, lazy that. Even if the street date could be overridden, a regular cashier could not do it, and it would require a CSM (Customer Service Manager) or higher to allow it.

Though I'm not saying it's in their system either. If it's not, you can buy away. They could still face a fine, but if it's not in the system I doubt there's too much to worry about regarding that sort of thing.

Can't wait for the posts of people bitching at employees actually doing their job and not selling street-dated items before the street date. Then people will start insulting the employees because they didn't get their toys.

Patience is a rare commodity here I guess. They're slated for the 17th of May, right? They will be in MASSIVE abundance from that date on, everywhere that sells toys. Why waste gas and time now when most stores obey the release date? Anyway, in a couple of months everyone will be complaining about the walls of dinobots.
In other news, neither of the local Walmarts here had anything new (not that I was checking or anything...).
