I was at Walmart on Monday, June 9th, saw this figure--actually went back a couple hours later to buy it. The shelf was marked $19.99, rang up for $14.88 ($15.92 with tax). I haven't transformed him, not sure of this new variation of transforming. It is a very simplified figure--no weapons, no leg articulation, awesome feet, legs are very flat/thin depth wise but fronts are detailed, arms are huge (they are the sides of the car). Excellent detailing on the brake rotors, calipers, and rims. Primarily colors are dark gray, black, silver, bright blue, metallic royal blue, and green for the visor. There is a lot of back kibble: the front clip, windshield/roof, and engine compartment cover hang off him. Now the best part of this figure: the head sculpt. After the close up of his head from the "villain" spot, Hasbro nailed the design, every detail is there. It is totally screen accurate. This would be the figure for the add-on "face gun" or "swamp scene scope" that we have now seen. Maybe some parts for the back surfaces of his legs could be sculpted too. Overall, he stands about 9.75" tall. I definitely recommend this figure, a great addition to my collection.
I just got this guy today and I really like the detail on him. I am glad at least his arms are articulated. I wish his head was on a ball joint but for 15$ not bad.
I saw Peaugh's review for this. Ehhhhhhhh I don't think I'll be doing that "buy everything Lockdown" thing I was gonna do.
I think it's cool, very tempted to pick one up for my daughter or nephew. Grab arms, spin spin, transformed! Brilliant playground stuff.
Peaugh never reviewed this, he reviewed the one step figure which is way smaller. This is the Flip Changer.
No, he did review this. He was not enthusiastic about it. I distinctly remember watching it and being glad I didn't buy this thing.
I got all 3 versions (this one, BB and Drift), and they kinda all suck. Especially Bee, in car mode, the hood doesn't want to close down completely, and there are no pegs to keep it down either. Too bad, because the robot mode is great. I think Lockdown is the best of the 3. Drift seems to look down in robot mode. Grimlock's transformation sucks, I only only Optimus truly delivers, and that's because he has another system.
is it possible to transform him normally? like could you unfold panels and rearrange parts and stuff, or would the springs not allow that?
i bought this because its lockdown. its a neat idea, but in reality, in the time it takes to get the arms straight and flip it the right way and the certain amount of times, i could have friggin already transformed by hand. plus once youre done flipping its still has to peg all in and bend the hands in so its like whats the point then?
Oh no, he reviewed this one. I know what the difference between one-step and flip-changers are. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m51Ln4ubVdY
I wish this and the deluxe came with his shoulder spikes. I'm thinking of picking this up just to customize with screen-accurate colors, and ridding it of some of his extra kibble pieces. I just want a larger Lockdown figure that I can display. I'm not too concerned with transformation after customizing. It's a shame we haven't seen anything about a voyager or leader class Lockdown. I hope we get one, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Enter: third party..pleaaase
Deluxe Lockdown has shoulder spikes moulded into the hinges on the kibble flaps on his shoulders. But they're almost never transformed right in photos so you don't always see them.
ahh gotcha! yeah it must be the way he is displayed in the stock pictures we've seen so far. Good job HasTak..lol
Picked this guy up yesterday and I really like him. Out of the Flip n' Changers he's definitely the best, because actually he's the most complex. His car mode is nice, not as sleek as the One Step (and I haven't had the chance to sample the Deluxe) but the proportions are still nice. It gets the job done, even with the blue tabs on the side. Robot mode is very chunky, and very nice from the front. He does indeed have shoulder spikes (which you can't see in my photos because of the light... fail. But he is the the most posable Flip n' Change, he has no articulation anywhere apart from his arms, but they're pretty well articulated. From the side with his arms raised you can see this guy is quite flat, which makes sense because he folds right down into that car. It's a bit of a shame, but when you see how he transforms you can forgive it. Oh speaking of transformations... There you go Hasbro, I just helped you sell a load of these. You're welcome.
