    So classy.

Anyway, no surprise, probably gonna be highest grossing movie of the year. Hobbit is the only one with a chance of outdoing it at the box office.

im glad for the success and i love me some TFs movies. Cant wait to see the next 2. But after that, can we please take some time to think about a cohesive multi part movie series that is not filled with plot holes and very bad editing.

And history, thank god, repeats itself.

    - Bay announces new TF movie
    - Movie gets hella hyped
    - Critics pan the film as awful
    - Audience reactions are mixed
    - Movie grosses so much money you could drown people in it
    - Cycle starts over again

    Frankly I couldn't be happier.

This has the best chance to be the biggest movie of the year. Hobbit 3 is its only legit competition. I hope so because ROTF got screwed by Avatar from being the biggest grossing movie of 09 while DOTM got screwed by Harry Potter in 2011. Transformers 1 cam in third for the year behind Spiderman 3 and Shrek I think.

we all knew it would happen. Thats why i dont see why anyone was getting upset at the official critics slamming it. They obviously are not hurting the movie any lol.

Not to derail, but I think if they had done one Hobbit movie the right way it could have competed with AOE, but I think most people are over the bs of turning 1 into 3. I don't see it even coming close and I actually enjoyed the first 2

Smaugh nearly grossed a billion, and it followed up the lackluster first entry. The fact most people liked Smaug and that this is the last film of that trilogy means the hype is there for it to be bigger.

See I felt like most we're disappointed with Smaug, I guess we'll see though.

According to boxofficemojo.com the take went down between 1 and 2. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/world/
