Hi guys, instead of repainting AOE Prime's feet silver, is it possible to remove the feet and just strip off the blue paint to expose the gray plastic underneath?

I'm still scratching my head as to why they would have to even paint it to begin with.......

Oven cleaner should strip the paint off no problem. I haven't tried it on Evasion OP, but it's worked on other Hasbro toys in the past.

Aren't his feet on the top of the trailer hitch part of the Truck Mode?

If so...I would guess they would want the whole hitch blue...?

But aren't the repaints coming with silver feet anyway?

Yeah. I thought it looked pretty goofy though in truck mode. So it's either an All Blue Trailer Hitch with the one and Accurate Grey/Silver Feet with the other.

The figure is supposed to be a G1 homage. That's why. Hence the alt mode.

    Good point.

Now going back to part of my original question, looking at the feet and how they are attached, does anyone know how to take them off?

The hitch should be grey anyway. Why would it be blue on a real truck?

The blue feet is entirely for maximum G1 homage. Silver feet improves both modes.

But you're still stuck with blue hands. For this and the feet, I was hoping to get the Takara version, which has silver/gray feet and hands. But, of course, that one sold out in a New York minute. :(

The Hasbro hands are also painted blue. They can be stripped the same way as the feet, were one so inclined.

No you can have it both ways. The top of the feet can be painted silver or even gun metal while the bottom remain blue. when the feet fold blue trailer hitch

Oven cleaner? Jeeze. I use stuff that's less...nasty. 99% Isopropyl Alcohol is the stuff I use to strip paint and it does wonders. If the job is tough, pull the part off, pour some into a container with a tight lid and let it soak overnight, then scrub the paint off of it.

Well with no paint on the whole lower leg, except the foot, you could remove the screw at the the knee and drop the whole thing into a 91% alcohol bath and use a soft toothbrush to get the remnants off after. BUT...I would got with what was stated above and just paint the top of the foot grey or silver. Painters tape will help to cover stuff you dont want painted, and I have used blue tack to fill in and cover areas before spraying too. Hands look pretty simple to strip and repaint or leave grey.

This. I want to remove the feet and strip the paint as well. They are attached with a pin, but I can't figure out a way to access it.

Hmmm...methinks me wants to grab a bottle of rubbing alcohol and give EMOP gray/silver hands and feet now. ;)

I don't have mine in front of me right now to check, but if you can see both ends of the pin, you can get a small torx head screwdriver or a flat circle punch and tap the smaller end of the pin with a small hammer. Be careful though, with the leg being plastic, it would be very easy to damage it.

The feet and hands don't bother me, since I got it specifically for the G1 look. What I don't like is how cheap they went with the paint apps. A few more sprays of the silver paint in a few areas would have made it perfect. Guess it's time to revive my model painting "skills".

Just take a q-tip and some 91% alcohol and rub the paint off top of his feet if you don't want grey feet in truck mode.

I soaked the hands in alcohol and stripped the blue paint off. They look much better grey, and I did the same for the short smoke stacks by his head. Then painted those strut thingies on his shoulders silver with my airbrush. So much better and it should have come from the factory like that.

edit: stupid auto correct thinkgs grey = Greg...
