Well, like most of us I can't wait for the movie, but I must say all the hype for seeing the Dinobots on the big screen is got me intrigued. I have some movie toys, but not a lot and I know when the first Transformers movie came out in 2007 it got me into collecting pretty much ALL the movie toys and I did and spent a lot of cash during that time. Then Revenge of the Fallen came out and again spent a lot of cash for those movie characters as well. And between Hasbro making and producing movie toys and also doing Universe 2.0 and now they call Transformers Generations I spent even MORE cash for my plastic addiction and then I had to make a choice: Sell movie toys or sell Universe/Generations line? Well that was a no brainer, so I sold about 80% of my movie toys and as far as I know they're in a good home today.

Now to the main topic which I went off course abit. I am considering getting ONLY the Dinobots for my collection just only to have them would be really cool and I really dig their dino modes and also their bot modes as well. Hasbro did a good job relating their designs and motifs to an early med-evil knights armor, weapons and helmets, and it works great for them. I would like to know what everyone else thinks about the movie toys and are they worth picking up? And what are the strengths and weaknesses for each Dinobot toy? I mean I've watched ALL the reviews on youtube and pretty I don't see any flaws, maybe overall colors that Hasbro uses and personal favorites that could play a factor in buying which Dinobot.

So, Which Dinobot should be first on the list?

I have all of the deluxe dinobots and voyager Grimlock. Scorn and Strafe are two musts if you ask me. I just got Slash and it has probably the most involved transformation of them all but the end result (robot mode) is just plain ugly. They all look great together on a shelf in any case.

Leader Grimlock is a bust for me, I did not enjoy him in the slightest.

Deluxes: Slug was very good, Scorn is fun but his tail arm kill him for me. Strafe have a very, very simple transformation but he is good, Slash not great but worth while if you're going to be picking up the rest.

I'm going to hold off on rating Voyager Grim for the most part until the other two voyager dinos come out but IMO he's not as bad as the leader class Grimlock.

I only have Slug so far, but I'm liking him a lot. The transformation is easy enough and both the Dino and robot modes look cool. Hoping I can find Scorn because that one looks cool too.

Scorn- IMO the best of the deluxe Dinos, fun transformation and good looking in both modes.

Strafe- Not bad, the transformation is very simplistic and the wrists not being able to rotate make the arms stuck in 'bearhug mode'...irritating to me, but it doesn't kill the toy. Colors are really nice.

Slash- Like Electro Rush said, the transformation is pretty involved, it was a nice surprise to me. I like it most than others do but I admit it's probably the weakest of the Dinobots released so far.

Slug- I wasn't really too impressed with it. I think the headsculpt is the most boring of the Dinos', and that's saying quite a bit since all of them are pretty "generic helmet". The transformation is more involved than I thought but there's just something about it that didn't work completely for me.

Voyager Grimlock/ Leader Grimlock- I got both because IMO neither one was a home run. I think Leader Grimlock has the better robot mode and Voyager Grimlock has the better Dino mode.

At the end of the day even though I was let down by Slug and Leader Grimlock's Dino mode, I'm incredibly happy Dinobots are on shelves again and I'd buy all of them again. I'm really greatly anticipating Slog and Snarl.

Scorn is, by a wide margin, the best of the lot so far. He gives me Beast Wars Megatron flashbacks (in a good way), and his dino mode is just VICIOUS.

Second place goes to Voyager Grimlock, although if curling arm syndrome bothers you, substitute Slug.

I really caved on the dinos. I didn't want to buy any of the movie toys. Got voyager grimlock, deluxe scorn, strafe and slug. Really enjoyed them all so far. Only kinda boring one to me was voyager grimlock, solid toy in both modes but just a bit limiting in bot mode. I love the deluxes though and am looking forward to find slash and voyager slog.

The dinos are among the best movie toys in all the lines in my opinion. Barring Leader Grimlock, the Dinobots are awesome with their knight features and transformations. In my opinion, my favorites are the Leader Grimlock mold and Scorn. I do have to open Strafe yet, though he is up there as well.
