Just caught it. I have mixed feelings about it - sure the Rambo shows were always about action and I enjoyed this one but sometime seems to be missing> ...I can't place it...but the action sure is intense and extremely graphic!
Gah! My bad! I guess I was so tired I didn't even typed the title of the film properly. By the way, is the show being advertised in the USA? In my country there was like "zero" advertisements for it! Weird huh?
I can't wait to see the new Rambo movie. Of course, I just wish it was called Rambo IV. Kind of like how Rocky Balboa should have been called Rocky VI.
Didn't even know it was out. I wanna see it for the ass-whipping. Any movie where a .50 cal is fired at a guy a foot away and it's depicted accurately is worth the price of admission.
I haven't seen Rambo yet, but I plan to probably on Saturday. It looks really good. And, yes, it is very graphic. I've heard it has the highest body count of the series - over 200!
They called Rocky VI "Rocky Balboa" to make people forget about the craptastic Rocky V, most people, including myself like to pretend it never happened. I explain his loss of money by paying for Adrian's cancer treatments. See, never happened. I can't wait to see Rambo. A lot of critics have been slamming it for being to violent and not having much story, but seriously all the Rambo movies are like that.
IMO its as "violent" as the other Rambos - only difference is that this one is the MOST graphic! With limbs being blown off etc. The movie really highlights how brutal the current regime of the "country" that Rambo is involved. IMO if 1/10 of what is shown in the movie is true - I really pity the folks in Burma.
I'm hoping to go see it sometime next week. I absolutely loved Rocky Balboa (it's like he re-watched Rocky V and said "how can I make this a helluvalot better?") and really hope Sly makes this two-for-two. If the trailers are any indication, I'll have a blast.
I might just watch it b'coz the original Rambo:first blood is the movie i grew up watching (more times than i can imagine until the vhs tape became so mouldy). The first one is an action movie classic for it's genre. but the other two sequels were kinda..MEH . so when i heard Stallone is going to do a new Rambo, was a bit sceptical at first. but after hearing the somewhat favourable comments. i might just give it a try.
I won't be seeing it in the theater so as to avoid having closeups of cobras shoved in my face. Snakes are my biggest phobia and I can't even see a picture of one without it really freaking me out, so meh I would love to see it otherwise
actually, this movie should be First Blood IV: Rambo III i'm seeing it tonight, hopefully it's as good as the first one (the other two were just shoot 'em ups, not much substance)
Sorry you lost me - what do ya mean, dude? The snale scene were tame IMO. Just involve Rambo catching one and a performer...nothing life threatening. It was the "action" sequences that grossed me out more than anything else.
Well when you don't have a phobia of snakes, obviously just seeing one won't be a big deal. Just the bit in the trailer was enough to totally screw me over though. Can't deal with that shit If you guys ever end up in a battle to the death with me, you know my weakness
I'll try and watch it here sometime soon, although I missed out on AVP-R so I guess it depends on how long it stays in theaters.
Heh. It is kind of confusing, but here it is explained, kinda: "Rambo 1" = FIRST BLOOD (actual title) "Rambo 2" = RAMBO: FIRST BLOOD PART II (actual title) "Rambo 3" = RAMBO 3 (yup, actual title. Lack of "First Blood") "Rambo 4" = RAMBO (uh-huh, no "First Blood", no number) I wish they had a more cohesive naming system, but it is what it is. Can't wait to see it. My soon-to-be sister-in-law is in town this weekend... hopefully I'll be able to sneak off by myself for a little bit and hit up the theater. I still need to see Cloverfield, too.
