I did a search and nothing came up similar to what I have in mind but if it's been suggested before please let me know. Anyway, as a kid I used to take my older brother's typewriters and write my own fan fiction... yes, typewriters, some of you might not know what those are lol. And one of my favorites to write were Transformers stories. Years later and I'm still an aspiring writer/artist trying to break into comics, but the truth is, I haven't written any TF fiction since those days, so I figured let's give this a shot. So here's my idea for an... unusual collaboration, and I hope to get some feedback from those interested. 20 writing collaborators, each contributing 1 page of the story, but the "crazy" part is that each writer can take the plot in ANY direction they want on their page, of course it would be a continuation of the previous page, kinda, but there is no outline for the story as a whole. Let's just let our imaginations go wherever they take us. The story will be a self contained story. Think as if you'd be writing an episode for an animated series and each page is a minute of story or a page in a comic book. In way it reminds me of the old "pick your adventure" books (don't know how many read those) where the story can take some interesting turns. The reason I picked 20 is that each thread is limited to 20 posts per page and I wanted to keep the story contained to the first page of the thread followed by any comments. I don't think we would need 20 contributors, though that's my goal, but if not then multiple pages could be assigned to a contributor. So yeah, that's my pitch. Let me know what you think, ideas on how to better execute the idea, or how to expand on it. I was thinking that maybe someday, if artists want to jump in and have a comic made from it we could self publish it with an online printer, nothing too fancy, just something we can all keep as a cool collectable or add to your portfolios. Some general guidelines to start off with: -Page (or pages) would be assigned in random order. -While I did say take the story anywhere you want, I would ask to take it seriously, meaning if one page has Optimus talking to his team outside the Arc and then on the next page someone writes that God came down an wiped out existence, I mean...ok, lol but you'd be handcuffing the contributor that would be next. So let's keep it fun, but professional at the same time. -In order to keep the process going I would suggest a 48hr limit to post your contribution, if the assigned contributor misses his deadline then the next one moves up a spot and swap places with the previous contributor, if the same contributor misses his second deadline then he/she would be removed and/or replaced.
Cool! i didnt think anyone would be interested, after a month of posting no one had said anything lol. Let's give this some time and see how many we can get in on the collab.

What kind of stories do you like?? I like character-driven ones, and ones about power-struggles. Also fav characters?? I'm getting excited lol
Power struggles are my kind of thing. I'd like to show the power struggle in both Autobots and Decepticons and how they act differently. I'm also looking for internal conflict. My favourite characters that I like are Optimus, Sentinel, Lockdown, Megatron, Starscream, and Shockwave.

Ok, right now the list so far is as follows: Go Faster Wings ObacaChanTachi Bumblebee2000 vmagnum and myself, so that's 5 contributors so far. If it stays as is each would get 4 "pages" ie posts. It doesn't look like my goal of 20 will be reach, so let's see if we can get 10 by the end of the month, if not then however many sign up. Thanks guys for showing interest!
Welcome aboard! It's all in good fun so dont worry about being good or thinking you'd do bad. Like I said in my first post, i havent written any TF fan fiction since i was like 9 or 10, so this will also be a challenge for me.
So, does anyone have any questions about how were doing this? I just want to clarify regarding the assigned pages that it doesn't necessarily mean you're getting X number of pages in a row, that's the idea of the experiment, you have to follow the page that was posted by the previous collaborator and then continue the "plot" with your own vision for where you want to take the story. Also, does anyone have a title for our fun experiment?
Looks good so far. Perhaps you can lead the way Title wise..maybe you can give rough idea what sort of content you will dish out. I can only suggest "The Awakening"
Well, I wasn't talking as far as a title for the story itself (that could come at the end after the whole story has been concluded), but the overall collaboration/project, IDK something like "The Great TFW2K5 Collaboration Vol.1"
