Well it also included dinobots, galvatron, the death of ratchet, and mark wahlberg a character getting a sword( in the film it was more like a gun blade). Bay dismissed this as fake, but there were still some surprising similarities, which leads me to think was it a coincidence, or was the leaked script an early treatment that got heavily edited when leaked?

Coincidence. Galvatron's a very common post-Megs villain, killing off the old cast was announced when the film itself was, Dinobots have been in demand for forever...

The definitely announced a few times during that period that the robot cast apart from Bee and Prime would be all new too. Granted, they didn't announce that Ratchet and co would actually die, but who are they kidding? We saw them do that exact thing in 1986.

And yeah, if I remember the story correctly it was recovered from a document shredding facility. Dinobots were tagged on at the end in that one too, but that one would probably been a better movie, a shame really.

 

Plus Kruger did say he pushed for Unicron.

 

I remember the very first plot synopsis I read here had the line "and Optimus and the Autobots ride the Dinobots into battle at the end" and we all yelled at the guy that posted it and said "that's horse crap!" and dismissed him entirely. I wish I had saved that post.

It's written from what we already saw on set to make it sound 'legit'. But incredible G1 fanwank and the fan fiction feel gave it away.

Oh really? I stand corrected. But I doubt Ehren is that amateur because it was not a good one, even for a draft.

 

So? Just because some one is a professional doesn't necessarily mean they can't put out a draft that is substandard. That is the purpose of a draft. Most of what other great writers develop don't get publish, it is only a small fraction of their work that see the light of day. In other words, no poops unicorns on a daily basis.

 

Even professional writers first drafts of films can look like fanfiction. This plot also follows with what ehren Krueger has said recently about pitching unicron to bay but bay opting to use him later
