A shot of Bay's private Jet that was used in DOTM, with Mearing and Sam inside, used again for Attinger.

Also, scene where KSI is deploying Galvatron and Stinger against the Autobots on the freeway, it uses the same shot from a satellite of the freeway which shows the Dreads, except now it shows the Autobots.

Not shocking. Bay does is in all of his films generally. Saves $$$ and helps keep him on budget.

Not as obnoxious as the reused shots in the Dreads scene in DOTM, so there's that at least.

Yeah, but that was more out of respect to the stunt driver who suffered severe injuries in the huge accident on set, rather than just a product of being lazy and saving budget money.

Its a combination of money saving techniques and trying to get the film done in the rushed time scale. Bay stated himself that this film wasn't done about a month ago - people were unsure if he'd finish it on time.

The only issue is that given its re-used shots of the last movie its going to be a hell of a lot more noticeable for anyone

Btw, he's used that overhead Earth shot in the past 3 movies-

    - In TF1 when Optimus and the others are falling to Earth.
    - In TF2 when the Decepticons are coming down.
    - In TF3, the last shot, but minus the flaming Transformers headed to Earth.

Does he use it again in this one?

There's also a shot of a drone camera turning that was from TF2.

The KSI building is the same building we see Ironhide driving in front of before he smashes into the dreads in DOTM.

So they just reshot part of the McCormick Place South exterior here in Chicago by the sounds of it.

Then again, they did use that area and dress it as part of China.

To be honest, I know we all what TFs movies as offten and fast as possible but I really do feel the studios rush movies out too fast anymore. I know Bay shoots fast and that's never goin to change but I think if the man was given an extra 3 to 4 months for post production stuff, these movies would be a whole hell of a lot more polishes and solid. The CGI errors and horrid cutting of scenes we got in ROTF may not have happened and other CGI errors that happened in DOTM and so on. And maybe some stuff would not have to be recycled footage.

Bay is often known for just using shots out of continuity.

For example, was watching the 2007 film when Bee is hiding from Barricade. When we see Bee's rear wheel spin out, in the next scene, it is taken from a scene inside of the building where they were chasing each other a few scenes before.

And lest we forget, the freeway chase where the light is all over the place, not to mention Bay flips the shot so the vehicles are driving on the opposite side of the road in one shot.

The CGI on ROTF definitely looked too smooth and not as grounded as the first film. I mean, Skids and Mudflap move way too fluidly at times.

Y'all are aware that the G1 cartoons reused shots as well.

Well, as so many people love to regularly shout: This is not G1!

Personally I'm not that bothered about reused shots. But your 'G1 did it too!' excuse for it is weak and unoriginal.

Money, time and continuity are far more valid excuses.
