I've been hoping that somewhere along the promotion line something would convince me to go see AOE. Toys can be misleading, and there's no reason to judge a movie based on rumours floating around the internet, or early trailers. However, there's been nothing released that makes me remotely interested in seeing AOE.

I was never a fan of the redesigned robot modes, and I'm even less so as I see more and more images of them. They're generic, and lack any of the flair or originality that the (extremely iconic) designs of the original trilogy had.
Onto AOE itself. All the rumours and plot tidbits I've heard (and now the trailers themselves) seem to imply that AOE will be the most human-centric film so far. A majority of the robots also seem to be created by humans(?). The plot line itself seems rather uninteresting, and the ending apparently immediately hints at following sequels.

What's weird to me is that a lot of people seem to be okay, or even excited for this movie. I hated TF3 but at the time it came out, everyone seemed to love it. AOE seems to emphasize the poorer aspects of the original trilogy but drop the better aspects. The seemingly entirely human-centered plotline seems to be pretty boring, but everyone seems excited for it.

I'm just wondering if there's anyone has been majorly disappointed by everything they've seen about AOE, because the majority of these boards seems super excited to see it.

I don't know where you have been, but something that has been stressed numerous times on both this site and professional reviews is the expansion of the Autobots as characters.
Less Autobots= Much more characterization for them
Barely any military, most fights are robot-to-robot
I don't know what makes you think the humans have a bigger presence this time around.

This movie actually gives ALL the Autobots Character,
All of them. And the Decpticons too, And it isn't as much that Humans are involved as much as it's just a fun story that brings in both parties this time around.

    Just putting that of there.

There's gonna be humans in it obviously, but I repeat myself, most people have said that this one has the best Robot screentime and development since the 2007 movie.

    What's not exciting about it?

We've got decent actors this time around.
    A non annoying human story
    Characterization for the robots
    Frank Welker as Galvatron
    Aerial battles
    Grimlock
    rest of the Dinobots
    A nod to G1 Prime's self.
Oh and ACTION, ACTION AND MORE ACTION.

The new designs are more iconic and stand out more than the last trilogy. Each character looks unique now.

Ironhide, Ratchet, Jazz, Sideswipe and Jolt were pretty unique IMO.

Nothing has convinced me to see the movie in cinema - as the runtime actually made me less interested in the film.

I'll be checking it out online when I can though and probably in cinema if it is indeed a much better movie than the others though - as I've always wanted to support good movies.

No honestly unlike the last two times when I basically went "ok let's get this shit over with" because I'm a TF fan, this time I'm going optimistic and a bit hyped for it actually.

Hopefully it doesn't end up as another ROTF.

Wait, so how about this as a reason???

Some face design choices like Drifts or Hounds I can see I will never like, but I like BB new helmet mask and the Dinobots. My theory is that you don't like Dino very much also, as he is what probably gave way to the more simplicity for the robot designs.

Not me. Sure, some stuff is said to have improved, but not enough to justify my time and money.

After learning the true plot with this creators BS I am done with it; I have the three movies and books graphic novels toys but as for the movies this ends it for me now.

It was a shame because some parts looked cool; but making it sound like Optimus was built instead of created goes against how the story of Optimus started. Hasbro should have put their foot down on this; but unfortunately toys seem to be their only concern right now.

I'm eventually going to see AOE, but certainly not during opening weekend and with very low expectations.
I'll wait about a week when the opening ticket sales aren't as importAnt.
