My friend in fourth grade; his family won $80 million.

So, yeah, there's always a chance, mang, go for it.

I actually won $20 from one of those scratch-and-win lottery tickets, just a couple of months ago. I was with my friends, so we spent it all on gum just to see the look of disbelief on the cashier's face. Worth it. :lol

Most I ever won is $10 on a lotto ticket (Suck it Doug! :p , j/k)

If you want to buy the ticket, go for it! If you don't buy one, you can't win. Just don't go overboard and spend all your money on lotto. I would say my parents are bad for spending too much on lotto, but with their average winnings they are always breaking even or making a slight profit. I haven't won a single thing on a ticket in over 6 months.

My brother-in-law is in one of these lottery pools where he works. They all chip in a couple bucks a week, and last month they won $1,000,000.He ended up getting $25,000.

    The most I ever won was $50 on a $1 scratch-off ticket.

The most I won was $10. But if I won the big one, I wouldn't tell anyone. I don;t give a damn about being on TV or the newspaper. And I don't give a damn about a giant check.

I helped my grandfather win the lotto when I was about nine years old. Picked out a number that bagged him twenty grand. He set aside more than half for my college fund and bought me some TFs as well. Grandad may have passed on, but he'll always be my main man.

As for cash I personally won, I've never gotten anything in excess of fifty bucks. Looks like I've lost my Midas touch.

You might win a bit, but if you've got the money to burn, it's smarter in the long run to put it into a retirement fund. Lottery funds don't make money by creating a bunch of big winners.

The first time I bought a Lotto ticket legally I won 100 dollars.

When the atari Lottery tickets came out this year, for 2 dollars, I bought one for fun and won 50 dollars.

I don't play much lotto or lottery but I know it's possible to win. Just be very irresponsible with money and you'll win. At least that who seems to be winning lottos now (a lot lotto winners end up broke in a few years, go figure).

Now poker, that's where the fun is at :)

While true, it's also true that if you don't play, then you can't win. Nothing wrong with playing here and there, just as long as you don't turn into one of those idiots that clogs up the line at the gas station trading in $50 worth of scratch off winnings for $50 worth of 12 different scratch off tickets.

We rarely/never buy scratch offs anymore since we just used debit cards for everything, but we when we did we would win more than we lost. $50 a few times, $20 every once in a while, and $10 wasn't too uncommon.

If I won big I wouldn't tell you.

Having said that the most I've won is £20 a few times, and around £10 quite a few times.

But honestly? I've still spent more on lottery than I've won.

I think the best return I ever got was a ticket that won around $100. However, that was a shared ticket between a bunch of people. We just kept letting it ride until the funds petered out.

    Best result solo was $10.

I rarely buy a ticket though.

I've never won anything in my life. I'm pretty sour about that. I did find a over $1000 in a bag one time, i was 13-14, I turned it over to the police.

Imagine a stack of pennies from here to the moon. You have to pick the right penny. The lottery is a tax on the mathematically ignorant. Save that money and spend it on toys.

It's fun. My fiance's mom won the lottery and she's not obsessive about it. Obsession is where people screw up. that's why it seems only bankrupt or poor people seem to win.

I bought a lotto ticket when it was really high for the jackpot once. The cashier asked me how many tickets I wanted. I said one. She said "with the jackpot so high you sure you don't want ten?". I told her I have as much chance as winning with 1 ticket as I do with 100.
