Cyclonus yodeled?  : This I must see. I like him anyway. Didn't know he got hate.

I like many of the NURiD15 Decepticons and Sideswipe as well. I didn't mind Fix-It. I thought he was a very sweet lil autobot.

 

Yeah in Energon he got turned into Snowcat and he did this stupid yodeling lol, cool design just not Cyclonus.

I didn't realize Seasray was hated. I know a lot of people seemed to dislike his recent toy because of the pizza box gun but is he really that hated of a character? I like him... oddly I think he's the only character with a speech impediment that isn't annoy in to me. I'd much rather listen to constantly under water than saying their own name, repeating themselves, rhyming, or speed talking.

Also forgot so many people hated Rodimus mostly because of all the toys Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime has been getting recently. Titans Return, plus a Rodimus Prime Titan Master, PotP, Last Knight, Reissue G1 Hot Rod, Plus I think they're making one for WfC since his Target Master partner is being sold in one of the weapon packs unless they think you're just going to use him with one of the past Hot Rods, plus they've repainted the classics mold more times than I care to count and I think they even reused Titanium Rodimus recently. That's a lot of toys for a guy who isn't very popular.

 

Beachcomber is awesome. I've seen some hatred for him, but he's so unique, both in character and in his function as a geologist.

Seaspray is also awesome.

I never understood the hate for Huffer. I thought he was one of the more fun 1984 robots.

 

Powerglide for me, as I know some can't stand the episode with Astoria. I know Cheetor got a lot of hate in the early days of Beast wars, and I think Tailgate gets some hate too.

 

I still love Miko. She's my favorite human of the entire franchise tbh.

 

I do like Movie Wheelie. He certainly has the most natural voice (and lines) in the movies.

And how dare anyone say Huffer is hated...

While not characters, I do like a lot of G1 and 1 step toys that people look down on due to lack of articulation. Same for the Combiner Wars cartoon and vehicle scale.

On the flip side, I hate a lot of popular characters...

Rattrap. Voice and face design. Plus he's an obnoxious prick.
Dinobot. Voice is corny AF.
Movie Ironhide. Face design.
Prime Bulkhead. Voice, face design and lack of Animated self's charm.
G1 Wheeljack. Knowall scientist.
IDW Tailgate. Cartoony design replacing his G1 design and overall personality.
Orion Pax. Horrible design and character. The Jake Lloyd of the franchise in that there's no way this guy goes on to be Optimus Prime.
Alpha Trion. Horrible design and cliche of a character. Facial hair on Transformers is just wrong.
Kup. Horrible design and overrated knowall.
G1 Arcee. Bland cliche. Prime Arcee fixed those flaws thankfully.
G1 Bumblebee. Annoying, goody two shoes sidekick.
Most Optimus Primes. See G1 Bumblebee. Overrated and I hate faceplates.
RID Grimlock. Annoying voice and character.
Machinima Menasor. Worst voice acting decision since Energon Ironhide. My favourite G1 Combiner makes me cringe when I see him on screen. They couldn't have gotten his voice actor from Devestation?
Devestator. Overrated and overused.

No matter what franchise it is I always have soft spot for hated/annoying characters.

 

Really?I didnt watch the entire show, but every snippet I remember that has the guy in it...If I had his creator in a room....Saw would have been rated for children audiences....

 

oh boy, almost every human character, especially Miko, for some reason she got a soft spot in my heart.
I used to like TFA Sentinel Prime, but mostly because his character was fun.
Wheelie, his G1-cartoon voice is insufferable, but I liked him in his Spotlight comic and think he could be a fun character.
and to end, Windblade, she got quite a big Hatedon, but I think there is a lot that can be done with her character!

 

I also like Skids and Mudflap and Movie Wheelie. Yeah, Wheelie was nothing like his G1 counterpart, but it was cool seeing a small Decepticon spy get captured and reveal his secret hatred of the faction he was working for.

Many Bayverse fans seem to dislike the AoE Autobots compared to the earlier Autobots, because they're more violent, they have human-like designs, and also probably because they replaced their favorite robots from the OT, but I find Drift, Hound, and Crosshairs to be far more interesting and fun than the likes of Ironhide, Sideswipe, Jazz, etc. Far from being just a-holes, I thought they were all quite distinctive from each other in their personalities, and they displayed plenty of personality. Plus, I prefer the Autobots being a band of disenfranchised outlaws over Prime's A-Team going through the motions or US military assets like in the OT. I even enjoy the AoE versions of Prime and Bee more than their previous appearances.

So between the OT Autobots and the AoE Autobots, it's not even close. I choose the latter by a long shot.

 

What the? When was Cheetor ever hated... besides his TM2 design in season 3 of Beast Wars which is the ugliest thing in the entire series and makes the BM version look good by comparison.

 

Apart from Wheelie and Miko, I don't think that any characters mentioned here are truly hated. It's silly to use the term "hate" as a synonym for "not the most popular character". ;P

But when it comes to my contratian opinion, I'm going with G1 Rodimus Prime. As an insecure kid with low self-esteem, I always got him. Now as a secure adult with enough self-esteem I still think he was cool.

 

People when the show came out, much like Hot spot, didnt like him because he was the kid and the usual malarkey. Oh he's there to sell the toy you kids, oh hes dumb, why are you doing cat like jokes, etc.
