Anyone find the Marvel UK issues in the US in the 80's-90's?

Got some of my Marvel UK issues out of storage, and noticed that some of them have a price in USD in addition to whatever the price was in pence.

Did anyone actually find them for sale in comic shops or books stores or anywhere?

I imagine some comic shops might have been able to get them on special order, I'm pretty sure UK books like 2000 AD were fairly common.

Wish I had been able to read them as a kid, probably would have loved them even more and developed a greater appreciation for them.

Then again, I'd probably regret spending a good chunk of my allowance on a book every week that was often just a reprint of a US issue plus some random non-TF backup comic that I wouldn't have cared about.

Can you scan some of those covers? I bought the entire UK run off ebay last year and mine only list the price in pence.

I can back it up. Starting from #94 and going through #199 the covers list both UK and US, as well as Canadian prices. On the scans I have at least.

I found 3 issues in Victoria, BC when I was younger. You can imagine young Marvel-US-reading me looking at a cover featuring Galvatron vs the Dinobots and thinking “this looks waaaaaay different than what I’m used to...”

Whenever I'm at a comic show or a big shop now (I'm in California, btw) I always looks for Marvel UK comics. Never seen them in person unfortunately.

I just flipped through my boxes. Same with mine - it starts including US and Canada prices on #94. Never saw these as a kid - just US Marvel and Ladybird books.

Awesome! Cool to hear they made it made it over to NA, even if they weren't very common.

Not sure what I would have thought of them when I was little, my first impression would probably be that they weren't "real" Transformers comics, like what I thought about the storybooks, but I'm sure I would have wanted more if I found some of the better stories first.
