Fair enough, that's the game you want. And it certainly sounds like an innovative game.

But then, that wasn't the point I'm making.

You do realize that you just asked if people wanted an interesting game that did different things, or a brainless shovelware shooting game, right?

So what? A lot of people like brainless shooting games. Mind you in my opinion I don't think WFC is a mindless shooting game.

Haa... if that's how you translated it...:lol
"mindless" shooting games have dominated the market since doom in 1993. Like porn, people just don't seem to get tired of it & it sells. But that debate is an entire different argument/thread.

If War for Cybertron was advertised as a war strategy game, a racer or a platformer/puzzler then fine.
It was advertised as a basic shooter (that used elements of other popular shooters), using familar characters in an ancient Cybertronian setting with no human boys to defeat Megatron & save the day. Actually it is a multiplayer game at it's core, with a little side objectives disguised as single-player campaigns.
And i thought that is what was delivered. High Moon gave us what they promised in my opinion.

I'm just thankful it wasn't a First Person shooter.

Personally, I would have had very little interest in a racer, puzzles or strategy elements in the War for Cybertron. For that matter they could have added a fighting game mission where we finally get a one-on-one battle with Optimus Prime vs Megatron. But as it's been said, it's a good foundation that raised the bar if we ever get any more TF related games.

The single play story mode is fantastic for the story mode but in all fairness its a lot of running/driving then shot and then more running/driving. But that is what I expected when I got it, the fact that it is so well done in a bonus. I don't have live yet so I haven't played online but I like the idea you can kind of make your own transformer. I'm looking forward to it.

There wasn't really any point of transforming in the PS2 Armada game either.

You have a badass semi truck with flames.

You have a badass face ripping robot.

    Combine those.

That is why we like Transformers.

I said earlier I don't find a game boring as long as I have friends to play it with. This rings ever so true. I achieved Prime Mode at the end of the 4x XP weekend, and now, whenever I play without friends online, I find it really tedious playing and slowly leveling up to get my perks back. I know I am spoiled by the double XP weekends but I achieved Prime Mode while playing with friends the whole time. I do want to max out my classes again for the final few perks for MP with friends, but I don't have fun doing it without anyone I know playing.

I was being serious. Your little rant earlier makes it sound like WFC is some kind of insult not only to Transformers, but videogames too. You can level almost any complaint you aired at any game in full or in parts.

Revenge of the Fallen was pretty bad. On almost every level. When compared with that, and even a majority of its peers, WFC comes out pretty favourably on almost every level. It's not a AAA quality title by any stretch of the imagination but its a certainly not a waste of anyones $60.

Is there a lot of hyperbolic praise from members here for the game? Absoloutely.

    Is it deserved? Not always.

    Is it understanable? Yup.

Is it really worth taking a contrarian approach to balance things out? Not really.

ROTF was really good in multiplayer (until Jazz came anyways... Damn Jazz : P)

I can agree on the single player though. What was not repetitive was frustrating.

MP was only really good with likeminded people. Against randoms there was way too much awfulness to go around. I blame the arena map design for that, mostly. Safe spawn points would have fixed a lot of the issues.

I'm well aware. I just thought you were right, and it was still pretty funny.

I suppose my hate for this game comes from disappointment. I expected an actually good game, and I got something that feels thrown together. I was expecting epic one on one battles with my favorite characters, not the kind of bosses that you would find in ANY OTHER SCI-FI SHOOTER EVER. And I've made this point before, I was expecting Transforming.

Mediocrity for no acceptable reason usually pisses me off as much as a steaming pile of shit would.

Are you strictly talking about single player? Try conquest or power struggle in multiplayer. Plenty of strategic transforming. The scientist class should be transforming left and right.

I´m waiting till the games drops in price. At 70 euros per game, no matter how good it is, it´s not THAT good.
