I had a thought regarding Drift. No real spoilers.

When the Autobots infiltrate Lockdown's ship to find Optimus, Drift says 'Use violence as a last resort' before mercilessly stabbing a weird tentacle creature. This was played as a joke, but does anyone else think that this was a stab (lol) at Transformers: Prime? In there, Optimus is always telling the Autobots to kill as a last resort. Then in the next episode, they massacre hundreds of Vehicons effortlessly.

Just a random thought, but does anyone else think so?

Nah, I think that's reading a bit much into it. It was just the joke.

No, I can't honestly give that level of credit to the TF movies, but it is kind of funny.

The movies intentionally play up the uberviolence as part of the character, wheras in Prime they're hypocritically inconsistent in what's 'okay' to kill. "Miners are bad to kill or hurt, except for all those miners we've killed in the past." Arcee says: "It's wrong to kill Megatron while he's defenseless, even though I tried to do that very thing on an even more defenseless and comatose Megatron not long ago."

Far more likely its to further show that Drift is very bad at maintaining the values he champions.

No. I think it was him trying to be peaceful sounding but showed he a bit violent.

Yep, sounds like Drift to me. Former 'Con, talks the Autobot talk, but gets a little bit chop happy at times.
