I'm curious if I'm the only one out there who's been waiting and hoping for another 3P company to take a stab at Mirage.

I owned Sphinx, and his design and QC flaws killed all the fun for me. (Saggy wheels; arms not tabbing in properly in alt-mode. And the posing issues with his head and rocket launcher really killed his playability for me.) I was glad to be able to sell him.

Am I alone? I know Sphinx is one of the most beloved 3P figures to have ever been released, but I'm hoping another company will announce a Mirage soon!

My guess is that those that are satisfied with Sphinx (myself and many others) don't need another option. At some point TT will probably make Mirage, but will likely not have nearly the real world detail that Sphinx has with the shift towards toon accuracy.

I really should cave on Sphinx. He wasn't quite there for me, but unless FT tackles him, I can't see another one coming along that will suit my preferences.

I have and am happy with Sphinx, but there is something a bit off with him aesthetically. I'd probably have to be blown away to purchase another 3rd Party option, though. I'd probably pick up an official version assuming I could still import for about $60 shipped...and there wasn't anything that annoyed the piss outta me about it.

I wouldn't mind seeing a better and cheaper Mirage.

I'm more interested in a better Sideswipe and Sunstreaker though.

I'm happy with Stealth Sphinx. I don't see any other 3P efforts topping it, but I'd still be in for an official TT one.

Given the amount of display options TT has been offering with the MP line lately (alternate expressions, Inferno's chrome & white grills, etc.) You guys think they might offer something to do with Mirage's invisibility?

I've got two already (Invisible and Sphinx) and like both so for me.......probably not. And if TT go the detail-free bland out + route when/if they finally get to theirs I won't need that too.

For those who enjoy the task of "fixin' their figures", Sphinx is a marvelous figure once you tackle those aforementioned issues.

Some of them are harder to fix than others, like the arm. Luckily, I rate my Transformer Fixin' Skills at around an 8.5 out of 10, so I was able to right all these things.

Once accomplished, Sphinx is near perfection.....I'd only want a TT version at this point.

I'm cool with Sphinx. It's not perfect, but it's still awesome, and really, there aren't many perfect MP's anyway.

Invisible isn't quite right for your MP's (your choice, still!) but it is an amazing toy which huge playability. But that isn't what this thread is about! I don't think we'll see a 3P Mirage now, and it all likeliness, we'll see an official much sooner.

If you're buying Terraegis and you have Sphinx you're in luck.

Would love to see an official one first & foremost obviously, but barring that, a better 3P would be cool. I don't care what anyone says, I think that MMC Sphinx misses the mark and can definitely be done better.

I own both Invisible and Sphinx, and I'm definitely waiting on a 3P to come out with something better. Invisible is a great *toy*, but it's just not G1/MP enough to fit my collection. And Sphinx looks closer to the mark, but his disproportionately short thighs, derpy face, and floppy/fiddly nature are major black marks IMO.

Neither is bad per se, but neither is anything more than a placeholder until someone else does Mirage better. And I know MT, FT, or even XTB can absolutely improve on these two. So yeah, Mirage Wars Round 2 please!

Sphinx is fine. Not perfect, but only an official Mirage will be a purchase at this point.

I have Invisible as my main G1 'MP' Mirage. He has a few of the 4th party upgrades, and I like him.
    I know I'm in a minority here.
I do have Stealth Sphinx, and he's chillin' out behind my Decepticons, who don't know he's there.

I was looking forward to a Takara MP Mirage, but now I've seen Inferno and they way their line is going, I'm much less interested in that.

I'm happy with Sphinx. I feel you on the head and cannon poseability, though.

The cannon possibility can be fixed with the ATP Designs adapter. Unfortunately it appears it's sold out. You might email him and see if he's going to do another run.
