I just got a Leader Starscream, (ordered online) and was so excited! My son and I tore into the box to liberate the cowardly decepticon and change him from a funky monkey-chicken into a lethal fighting jet. Well, much to our dismay, the battery panel of the jet is warped (for lack of a better word). The right corner of the panel (closest to the decepticon button on the "shoulder") is raised 1/8th of an inch. It looks HORRIBLE. I tried to get a replacement piece from Hasbro, and the chick on the "Customer Service" chat said she'd gladly send a postage paid sticker for me to return the whole toy, and they'll replace it. However, Starscream is a popular toy, so they'll replace it with a comperable Leader Class toy if Starscream is not available. In other words, the ugly Leader Megatron, which is keeping shelves soooooo comfy. They can't send a SIMPLE 1 inch by 1 inch plastic tab? Anyone else have a warped Starscream toy?
No, they cant. because they'd either have to take one off a complete starscream, and render that one useless, or cast the entire sprue that that piece is on, and have nothing to do with the other parts. find a leader starscream in a store, buy it, and take the defective one back in it's place. Not exactly honest, but its the best you can do.
Oh no no no no no no no no no no no. Best for him, maybe, but do you really want some one else to bear this issue in his place? I don't know what to do, but I know this isn't it.
Ummm ... If I send them my defective starscream, they'll just throw it away anyway, so I don't see why they can't take the panel and send me it. I don't wanna mail the whole figure coz the gal kept commenting on "a substitution of comparable quality and price." which just screams "we're gonna screw you for complaining". I'll probably do the "open and switch" but I feel bad about taking away an innocent store's profits because hasbro's quality control failed.
I don't mean "return it" as in, like "return it and say I dont want it", I mean "return it as broken". and if they don't have a starscream on hand to send you as a replacement, where are they supposed to get the panel?
Isn't Starscream assembled in Vietnam? Hasbro would have to get you a spare piece for you from Vietnam. I don't think that'll happen. Sorry to hear yours is defective. =/
buy another and return it, or take off the battery panel, see if there is something stuck under it making it stick up, if that's not it heat it with a hair dryer and bend it if you can
No such thing exists in the world of toys. I say return it and make sure you note it's defective. Hopefully the employees will care and discard it or sell it repackaged/as is at a reduced price, and not just toss it on the shelf at full retail.
