I'm intriuged, and I thought Furman and Raiz did a good job (the colouring was a bit odgy though?)

 

It was okay, but I can't see how its tying in with the old Deaths Heads, which is disappointing to the extreme.

I don't think I can stomach more Furman schlock.

 

Furman said in an interview that i believe was linked off the front page a week or 2 ago that the AF story wasn't going to tie in, but that he did have a tie-in and if he got to do more with the character he would be working that in.

 

I got it. It intriuged me, but I can't say that I really got into it it any - and I'm a die hard DH fan with all of the originals.

I actually talked to Furman about this story back in November, and he told me that it wasn't going to tie in anywhere with the original - but that it may have a few "nods" in it for long term fans. I asked him if that made it "Ultimate Death's Head" - he cringed somewhat - but said that it was in that kind of vein.

 

Wha? Then how is it Deaths Head?

My thoughts exactly. If he doesn't have personality, appearance or memory of Death's Head, he's not really Death's Head, is he? He may as well be called Steve...

 

It's the fact that he's gone from being bald to having dreadlocks that confused me. In the very first issue of Death's Head (The proper one) - he tried a wig - but it wasn't to his style - yes?

 

Spider-Woman 1 had black hair and a red n' Yellow Suit, Spider-woman 2 had a Black and White suit and redish blond hair, and as far as i know, there's no connection between the origins of the 2 of them (i coould be wrong there) ~ soemtimes in comics, names get repurposed (not to mention the neccesity of maintaining copyrights) ~ i just think it's cool that they let Furman takle this update, hopefully it's not the mess DH2 was...

 

100% Correct. There's actually been 3 or 4 Spider-Woman characters. The two you mentioned, Jessica Drew, and Julia somethingorother. Then there was some kid friend of Jessica's who was Spider-Woman as well.

 

Julia Carpenter was the other.

 

there was also a girl (mattie something?) and a villian with 4 spider legs who like stole powers from the original 2 or something wacky like that)  

but i was just using it as an example, didn't mean to derail my own thread  

 

And like, at least they all existed in the same freakin' universe and like, you know, had boobs... that was consistent with them all. Boobs.

Anyway back to Deaths Head, he needs that angry mouth. I liked that a lot.

I see your point. But when I voted in Marvel's online poll it was for which character I wanted to see updated. If they'd asked me which name I wanted given to a totally new character, I might have given a different response.

 

Spider-Woman II has the best costume. Thigh-Highs *drools*
