I see all the Earthrise toys as equal in appeal, so I am curious what rubbed you the wrong way about those particular figures?

Just the fact that they are slots that we could cave gotten characters we haven't seen in awhile or updated to the new standard, but instead just redos of Figures we have perfectly fine versions of. It rubbed me the wrong way because I feel like it sets a president for this stuff.

That's what the Coneheads always looked like too. They were literally the same mold with different wings. That's all that separated the toys.

I feel like whereas Siege looks almost exclusively like Starscream's character model, the ER version looks more like a compromise between Starscream and the coneheads, just as ER Hoist looks more like a compromise between Hoist and Trailbreaker's VERY DIFFERENT animation models than just looking like Hoist.

Yeah, makes sense. I love Hoist and I couldn’t bring myself to get him. Looks better as TB in my opinion:

Hasbro is also known to do more retooling and less straight repaints.

I'll be honest, after all the figures I got from Siege, my wallet could use a cooling-off period. :lol  Still gotta get Omega, too.

Same here. I'd be dead trying to find a Fort Max so I could get Skorpy - but I need a new laptop(and not one under 800 either:oops: ).

As I see it, Metroplex and the other citybots are still active, and operate as they "control" the day to day aspect of their city mode, lights, systems, etc. for the robots that are living inside them. Same with Omega... in the cartoons you can hear him talking as he navigates, flies, and does everything.

But the rest is kinda part of what actually doesn't really work with the series as a whole.. the millions of years thing to me will always be just extremely bad and lazy writing... I'd would consider a few thousand years being plausible, but above that, it really fades out of being realistic (as much as a cartoon/fictional story can be).

The guns thing is something I find silly, but can be worked, as they are part of the battle but not "targets" to be destroyed like a shield would be and also offers to being able to control who can use them... and their time as a gun is limited to the battle time.

The heads thing.. actually works great to me, as the headmaster can be representative of the "robot's" true self and function in a smaller scale, and as a head, can control the large sized body with the extra power, or ride the alt mode. In a way, helps explains the why TFs are vehicles that take on humanoid sized pilots/passengers.

But a road that just lays there... TFs have been completely humanized and should be accepted that they are to same as humans for their psychology and emotions buildup. Lots of stories have been about depressed (or other such emotions) TFs and the likes. YOu can't have both "they are aliens and are completely different from us" only when it's convenient, and then have them be 100% human-like for everything else.

The day job thing is actually funny, thanks for the giggle there. But for that, I can just see the scenario of the other Transformers going..."Hey, let's go down this street.. hey, where the heck is it....! AHHHHHH!" *CRASH* .. In the background, Roadkid is going.. "my shift was over, screw them!" as he swings a glass of energon downs.

Im disappointed Astroscope was removed from Skylynx even though we never saw it. That was a nice intriguing little extra on an amazing looking premium priced transformer .

I'm bummed out that the articulation in the Earthrise figures that I have doesn't seem quite as good as it is in the Siege figures that I have.

    20200221_023533.jpg

Starscream doesn't have a turning waist or rotating wrists. He also has a skid plate in robot mode behind his thighs that prevents his legs from moving all the way back at the hips.

    20200219_133856.jpg

Astrotrain has the same rigid skidplate and lack of wrist articulation, but at least he has a turning waist.

    20200215_141224.jpg

Even ER Optimus Prime has butt-kibble that limits his leg and waist articulation, especially compared to his Siege figure.

These things might seem like nit-picks to some, but they really annoy me. IMHO, Generations has always been about greater articulation, and these figures' designs feel like a step backward.

I absolutely agree with you on the articulation issue. ER Screamer is more visually appealing and has the G1 aesthetic in his favor, but I just can’t get past his limitations in articulation relative to the Siege version.

Forget the OP waist swivel, and badonkadonk. I’ll give you something to complain about.

Rotate both ER and S thighs...

It's not that I'm dissapointed per se (in what I've seen since I don't have any figures yet), but I'm not as enthusiastic with ER as with Siege.

I'm one of the 3 people in the world that liked the battle damage and the greeble grew on me a lot since first seeing it. These new figures look like they stepped out of the car wash while the others are still dirty from battle. I would prefer them all nitty gritty, but its ok.

Something that annoys me a little more is how uber G1 and not that much update they are. They're basically budget MPs which is great for most people I guess, but I mostly lean on "G1 but updated".

Smokescreen, Megatron, Arcee, Optimus and Starscream redos have varying degrees of being letdowns. Of all of them, Arcee and Smokescreen are the most justified; Arcee because its been years since her last CHUG figure and Smokescreen because we just got him, but he wasn't main line so a lot of people didn't get a chance to get him. The fact that he's different also makes sense since he was the most retooled of the Datsun bros. Optimus and Starscream look a lot like last year's models but at least Optimus comes with the trailer and Starscream has a vastly different alt mode. For me I don't want the Classics but upscaled Starscream again, I already had that experience. I'm good with my 7( probably soon to be 8) tetrajets.

ER Megatron is just inexcusable. So many Megatron designs over the years and the best they could come up with was "Siege but worst".
