Is anyone doing NaNoWriMo? It's short for National Novel Writing Month. Basically it's a writing challenge that takes place in November. The goal is to write the first draft of a novel, typically from start to finish.
I debated doing it again this year, but I decided not to - too many other things going on. I did already complete it twice, in 2011 and 2015, but I had time to prepare myself beforehand. Might try again next year.
I usually try my best, but in the end I don't worry that much about quality, since my main objective above all else is just to FINISH the damn thing. Focus has never been one of my strong suits, so I find it helpful.
I keep trying to do that, but I just get to some points and hope "Oh gosh I hope I'm not losing the audience/making this character look like a jerk". I'm overthinking it, I suppose.
I typically try to finish the draft rather than focus on the quality of it. I can always edit the chapters later.
just a little tip if who's struggling for ideas or how to put sentences together you read other people's stories similar to yours to get ideas and put those ideas into your own writing sometime just watching tv episodes or commercials with similar themes or subjects can "influence" or give you ideas
