Hey all, I've been kind of "out of the loop" when it comes to Trasnsformers lately. I guess I just wasn't too impressed with anything after Robots in Disguise. I watched most of Armada and some of Energon and like one episode of Cybertron and I just can't get into it. However I'm still enjoying watching G1 and Beast Wars on DVD! So anyway I know that they make six 10th Anniversary Beast Wars figures: Cheetor, Rhinox, Waspinator, Tarantulas, Dinobot, and Transmetal Rattrap. This is a really cool idea, especially because they come with Transmutate pieces! I eventually plan on getting them all. I've owned all of those from when they originally came out except Tarantulas (I FINALLY get to get myself and original Tarantulas... 10 years later! ) and Cheetor, but I have Tigatron so I'm not really missing anything except a color scheme. Naturally since I had those when I was younger and actually PLAYED with my toys A LOT instead of like I do now, some of them have seen their fair share of action and are broken in some way or another (like my Dinobot). Alright, so I was wondering if they are going to be re-issuing the rest of the pre-Transmetal characters that appeared on the show. For example, I have a Scorponok figure, and he's really cool, but he may very well be the figure who has the most damage. Both leg pieces that become his head don't connect to the body in beast mode, his bee-launching claw broke, and his stinger came off!!! I would love to get a new one. Other ones I don't have are Airazor, Rattrap, Terrorsaur, and Blackarachnia. And I only own Megatron as T-Wrecks and Optimus Primal from the Universe line. Sorry for the long post... when I get talking about Beast Wars I can just go on and on, thanks in advance for any help!
Unfortunately, there's only two more BW 10th Anniversary figures - Optimus Primal and Megatron. They're all new molds, deluxe sized, and not based on any TV incarnation, but rather are fully technological versions of their original forms. They also come with little minature versions of their respective starships / bases. Takara has also released their own set of tenth anniversary toys based on the leaders, which are reworked and remolded versions of the original Ultras, and are considerably more show accurate in this incarnation.
Ah what a shame that they're not making anymore. I am thankful that I'll be able to FINALLY get that Tarantulas figure! And I'll also be able to Rhinox in regular colors (and not the stupid-looking blue used for the Fox Kids! repaint) and I'll finally have an original Cheetor too!
It'll be cool if Hasbro makes a Blackarachnia like this one http://cosmicrust.com/toys/bwr/BWR-01/pages/CD07.html
A repaint isn't nearly enough to make the Tarantulas mold into Blackarachnia - BA's beefy gym teacher sister maybe.
Hahahaha nice one. I do think a repaint would work pretty well though, it wouldn't take too many beers to imagine the pecs as breasts.
I wouldn't mind if they continued the line, but with all of the stuff going on and lines that will be happening, I don't think we want to see a ton of different TF lines because then you end up with over-saturation and then the franchise will be strangled by so much stuff on the shelves. Plus, I just spent $50 getting some of the original figures that I missed on the first time, and if they reissue them, I'll be pissed.
Jetstorm welcome to the boards. Feel free to check the junkion exchange for original Beast Wars items.
Actually, I've been a member here since August 2002. But I guess since I haven't posted in so long my post-count got deleted. (I wasn't sure if you were being sarcastic or not b/c you had the laughing smiley... but I thought I'd post this for clarification just in case )
I was going to make a new thread about this, but I figured this might be just as effective. I've read that there are some problems with BWX Rhinox's shoulders. I just got him and haven't opened him yet, but I was wondering what I should be looking for and how to fix it if there is a problem.
I wonder if there's a little bit of Jetstorm/Feralstorm confusion going on. About Rhinox, not sure if it got lost in the Toy-Fair bandwidth purge, but there's been thread(s) about the shoulder fix, so try a search. Basically all that's involved is unscrewing the halves of the Shoulderpads, and swapping sides for them and the black upper arm pieces. It is a little challenging to pop the forearms and rhino legs off and on the ball-joints though.
About the Rhinox fix. When I switched mine, the right arm became loose, so I had to keep it with the screws facing forward
I agree. It doesn't seem worth it to hide a couple of screws. But thanks for letting me know what it was Feralstorm.
