If you're a friend of rabbits and live in the socal area, the bunnybunch organization needs your help. Please join their facebook page and help where you can, thanks. I know some volunteers who work hard over there to save homeless and sheltered rabbits. I'm just doing what I can to spread the word. They have don't seem to have many followers as they should. https://www.facebook.com/TheBunnyBunchSPCR?hc_location=timeline
I had a female rabbit that I loved and included in my artwork. She got eaten by a dog my sister was guarding.
Used too, named her Ginger cause she was a golden brown color. She was supposed to be a mini rex...she didn't turn out too mini though lol We had to give her to some distant kin cause where we moved considered her to be a farm animal Last I heard she passed about 7 years ago from old age. I miss her so much Rabbits make excellent very lovable pets if treated right, I want another one but I don't think our cat would agree lol P.S That's him below lol
I had pet rabbits growing up that we kept in hutches we built for them. The first two we had bred, but the litter did not survive. Apparently, if a female rabbit is stressed like ours was, she may eat her young. At the ripe old age of ten I watched our female rabbit eat her young. On a lighter note, we were given a pet rabbit that we messed with more that was trainable. She was a wonderful rabbit, but died mysteriously. She wasn't old like our other two rabbits. I'd love to have a rabbit again, but I currently have a female rat terrier that loves hunting. Small animals, birds, lizzards, if it runs she chases it. Only time she runs, too.
I had a rabbit as a pet at one point. His name was Bugs (really fucking original). I think it ended up getting released in the wild...dunno?
I've got a rabbit (Smudge) he's a black half lop. My wife surprised me with him at work one day, she got him for free off of craigslist. Apparently I said at some point that I'd always wanted one. I don't seem to recall it. I love my bunny but I know he doesn't get as much attention as he should. Plus his pee is the single worst smelling thing on the planet.
If I were to get another rabbit, I'd box train it so that pee could be neutralized by a good smelling cat/rabbit litter. Rabbits, surprisingly, can be very smart animals. But, as long as I have a viciously cute dog, I can't have a pet rabbit. I've attached a picture of my "vicious" dog, Izzy. SHE is the reason I cant have a rabbit. She is wearing a muzzle because she was being a bully to her brother who was also in a muzzle. He wears one because he has "issues," and when he wears his he gets bullied by his sister. She wants to make him her gimp.
I used to have a rabbit, but she passed away quite awhile ago. My mom got another but I wasn't as close to that one as I was the first one.
Before he died, my grandpa raised bunnies in his backyard. He let me help him sometimes. They were pretty cute. We took them to the pet shop and sold them after he died. Broke my heart a bit.
