And regarding the N.E.S.T base, already wrote about it earlier and posted some pics. this base is later under attack by the Decepticons, which actually starts all the mayhem on the streets around it.
The three pointed futuristic looking item is a forcefield generator. Meanwhile the metalic item with what looks like steps inside is infact a Protoform pod (Last seen in Beast Wars)

Doesnt anyone recognize this as the same exact truck Soundwave had for his alt mode in the concept art for ROTF. I will laugh my ass off if that ends up being Soundwave. lol
The red Silverado was being filmed by cameras mounted on a Mercedes, Bay uses cameras mounted on Porsches. Hmmm. Then there is also the thing about GM filming a commercial in that area the same day. Hmmm.
It's a commercial. Bay rarely if ever uses second units he likes to oversee every shot himself with Bay nor the actors being no where in sight....and a Chevy Silverado? I say its a commercial.
A friend of mine sat next to actor Alan Tudyk at dinner last night here in Chicago. My friend's no Transformers fan but was still completely star-struck.
This reminds me of how I took a photo from our office building showing traffic going past the TF3 set on La Salle, and there was a little mini-Corvette in the flatbed of a truck that was passing through the shot. I had contemplated posting that photo and going: "Bay to have Mini-Cons in TF3?" You'd get 3 pages of back-and-forth banter with that one. Or when my co-worker and I walked past the Trump Towers and some guy had parked his yellow Ferrari out front. Just imagine the chaos with a tag of, "Have we found Sunstreaker?"

Ok, I went walking around and they are filming on Washington St. off of Wabash and contrary to the post above, the "main cast" is indeed still in town. They have cameras, lights and crew set up in an alley on Washington with a big fake "STRONG" neon sign along the building with pedestrian actors walking back and forth on the sidewalk. Actors present were Shia LaBeouf (in white dress shirt and tie) his movie parents Kevin Dunn and Julie White (in green Adidas sweats...odd) and I was told John Turturro was also present but I never saw him (I was there only 10 minutes and PA's kept people back during shooting). Mr. Bay was also present doing the directing thing. I have some mediocre pics that I'll upload in a sec.
Before heading over to Washington, I passed Hotel 71 to see if that black alien-looking thing was still in that back alley ... it was: As you walk south on Wabash (under the El Train) there are craploads of production trucks (no Transformer vehicles). On Washington is where they're set up in the alley for filming. There are crane lights, cameras and crew and this big weather balloon-looking thingy (perhaps for night lighting?): In the alley is a big fake "STRONG" neon sign, where Shia's parents (Kevin Dunn and Julie White) are dressed in these horrible, matching Adidas sweats. Perhaps they are "undercover" and this is how they think you have to dress? Like "Goodfellas" rejects? Who knows. Pretty silly, though: I walked to the other side of the alley but never did see John Tuturro (reportedly on set). And the cop on this side kept moving me along. But here are Michael Bay, the Parents and Shia (in white dress shirt and tie): I probably won't go out again tonight but if anyone is interested, head on out. Because according to the "No Parking" signs, they should be in that area through Friday.

Did you see The Baybuster? I got some pics of it, so I wonder if we're going to get car smashing in Chicago on the streets this weekend. Given those green tracksuits, I wonder if there's some St Patrick's Day shenanigans the Witwicky's are finding themselves in.
