Come on guys you know he is the last carbot not being done! I mean, I agree it is hard to do a MP of some one with little to no screentime, but I see people tackling Roadbuster, and doing some seriously fine jobs on him!! Think of how many times you could get use out of the mold. There is Skids blue, cartoon blue, movie green (maybe). Crosscut, Burnout, and other diaclones you can give names too. The only stand in there is, is that awful Alternators, anyone else think this needs to happen? No, he isn't my favorite, I am speeking from a completion point of view. Any Takers, 3rd party, TT, listening. He is the last carbot!! I am curious of other opinions!

 

Ive been corrected, he did have screentime. The last ones to be made that didn't were the deluxe insecticons. I can wait for skids, I didnt have him. I much would rather the omnibots first.

 

I don't really remember him from the cartoon but he had a whole issue of the Marvel comic to himself (well, Ravage was there too and Megatron appeared in a dream sequence) and I really enjoyed it. I'd love a good MP Skids.

 

Will 3rd party dare tackle another G1 carbot now that Takara has spoken?

Skids is the perfect target for a 3P. Takara has a long list of more appealing bots before him. I for one would need at least a blue and silver repaint. The G1 toy was pretty cool with all those weapons. MP Skids would be sweet.

 

Skids, Omnibots, Runamuck/about, Punch/Counterpunch.

As long as they have realistic vehicles with Robot designs that match the Hasui era, I'm in. Oh, and also the vehicles scale with the carbots.

He barely had any screen time. He was in the Marvel comics a bit a guess?

IDW really fleshed him out, made him not "fat," and handsome'd him up a whole bunch.

The tiny deluxe is aiight - but I'd rather a voyager scaled IDW one from MMC

Good God, please take some liberties in the design if you do make him. He looks like a Honda City Turbo that grew legs or what an amateur robotics person would make in a junkyard.

What are you taking about? Aside from the shoulders, which could stand to be improved, he looks like all the other carbots from that era. His g1 toy was one of the better proportioned figures too: they could pretty much ape that design with a few improvements and add articulation and call it a day.

 

Evangelizing IDW in every mp thread is getting old. There is interest in IDW and some third parties are doing then but the majority of this market wants mp g1 figures. I have no interest in anything IDW and what we're talking about here is an MP g1 Skids.

You are correct that there have already been several "we want Skids" threads though. Probably should just post in one of those rather than constantly create new ones.

 

Thats my point, its rare that the toy looked better than the toon. That shot with hoist looks terrible other than his legs. That comic looks the same. He has MP Magnus butt flap behind his head, his doors in line with his chest which make MP Ironhide's hip skirts look like the best MP design aspect ever. My point is the way he is shown looks like he didn't complete his transformation. Whenever the autobots had trouble transforming, thats what skids toon and comic look like to me.

 

If not then Dr. Wu will probably have us covered  

 

I dunno'. They look about the same to me. The toon and the toy, I mean (nobody ever bases a toy off the Marvel comic).
