I was just wondering if I missed some update on Backfiery. I look at BBTS and TFSource and it said release this month. I look at Robot Kingdom and they save October. Usually TFSource and BBTS get their stuff a couple of weeks later then RK, so are we seeing this guy anytime in October? I have a POL I would like to ship and was waiting on Backfiery so I may just ship. Just wanted to know if anyone had additional info on this. Thanks!
The last we saw were some new photos a few days back. Considering NO 3rd party has released something on time I would just sit back and wait on the RK date for release. Personally, he is going into a OOH - Automatontoys version of POL - that won't ship out until Encore Devi comes or the 3rd or 4th Her member. I am shipping out a big stash to open on Christmas Day. woot woot!
this month hasn't end yet. And with 3rd party trend I wouldn't even bother with concern until November. Bottomline: It will get here when it gets here. edit:: this not directly particularly at you, Alucard. Personally, I am sick of toy threads popping up asking where this or that is daily >.> It's as annoying as a kid saying "Are we there yet?" on a road trip every 5 minutes. We will get there when we get there. Really. If there is news of cancellation or delay you bet it's going front-paged or in their respective News and Rumors threads anyways.../rant
Yeah, not being impatient. Just wanted to get some clarification cause we all know there is nothing worse then hitting the ship the POL to only find out a day or two later that item you were waiting for comes in.
It's not optimism nor pessimism. It's being practical. If you are a gamer, you would know that, hoping Blizzard to release at the date they say they will is extremely naive. Same here. Quality products are worth the wait, so we wait. @Alucard: Yeah, how I deal with "the wait" is really just ignore it and don't even think its there. I get pleasantly surprised one day when I get an email from BBTS when anything I preordered is in stock. I have about 7 items arriving Sept. (or should) but I ain't staring at BBTS hompage. (actually I never visit them unless I am ordering)
I agree, I hate those threads too. I just didn't see anything on the timeline either here or in the News section. The only thing I saw was that first image thing. And we know where that thread went. I didn't want to be "that guy" asking this, it was more is there any official word. Especially since RK showed October and they tend to get news first before the rest of the guys.
wouldnt count on BBTS for accuracy...TFC said Heavy Labor was getting delayed, yet BBTS still have him listed as "arriving in September"...most likely to try and get pre-orders from customers who aren't in the know and see the other toy sites listing him as arriving in October...clever on BBTSs part...
If I am remebering correctly, Thundershred came out early August, and Stormbomb was released early September. So I am guessing that Backfiery will be early to mid-October.
How is that clever or not clever? BBTS doesn't charge for preorder until they are in stock. Getting customers to order... isn't earning them extra profit. For those that care enough whether it gets here this month vs. next month, they would be in the know anyways, and if they weren't, they aren't caring enough. Enough of the BBTS conspiracy theory. While people may argue about the price hike (as I read in the last episode of Backfiery thread), it doesn't mean one should extend disapproval to how they handle things. Their preorder policies are some of the best I have seen. Their updates to when the item arrives can be improved (a lot). Would I try to explain why BBTS fails to update their arrival status? Maybe. It seems somewhat understandable (not reasonable, but understandable, nor does it really matter), as unlike TFsource and even RK, BBTS's inventory contains a LOT more than just transformers. Maybe they got the memo, but didn't get a chance to update. As a BBTS regular, I learn to never trust those ETA's. Put a +/- 3 months, and you are good to go for most items.
the funny thing is, they are already delayed...both Stormbomb AND Backfiery used to have arrival dates of "August 2001" at BBTS...that month came and went and it changed to "September 2011"...now its gonna be "October 2011"... like exo said though, "it will get here when it gets here"
I was thinking the previous two showed up in my POL the last weeks of July and August, but regardless, I'm optimistic that it will show up soon
*oh, if anything, BBTS preorder screws themselves more so than help them earn profit (but it benefits us as customers, so I am grateful): 1. People can cancel any time preorder. 2. BBTS always gets their stuff later. This implies a scenario that can happen and HAS happened: BBTS see a large amount of preorders and orders from manufacturers X amounts. Then the product gets released, and review says its bad (or excellent such that collectors want it even more, FASTER, NOW). People cancel preorders either because they start to lose interest after review OR they want to order from another place that got them in stock. BBTS stuck with stock that they ordered not knowing if they can rid them or take a loss. BBTS's preorder policies, are exactly like Ebay's Buyer Protection. It heavily favors the buyer.
i love BBTS just as much as the next guy...alot of the conveniences they offer far out weigh the slightly higher cost... ...but if you can't admit that them not changing the arrival date when everyone else has isnt clever, then i guess we just see things differently... i'm not saying there IS some kinda conspiracy, i'm just saying it certainly wouldnt be dumb on their part to appear like they were gonna get stock before everyone else to customers that arent in the know...it would be a clever marketing tactic that if i had a company, would also employ...i don't begudge them for doing it if it is the case, i think its genious...
Well, by your logic, that would only work on non-returning customers or customers who don't pay attention to BBTS all the time. Given PoL, I assume they have a substantial portion of their customers as returning customers, and purposely delaying updating a ETA would just be a ******ed move as it will cost them customer trust and store reputation integrity compromised. Having used BBTS for over 5-6 years, personally my understanding is not to bother reading the ETA. If I choose to order from BBTS, it's NEVER because it's getting here early. It's because I want the best customer service for that product. Otherwise, I would get things (esp from 3rd party) from my direct contacts and/or RK. I have no problem agreeing with you, Eddie. But I have a problem in that your conclusion is drawn based on that they PURPOSELY (key word of the sentence) not update the system. My argument is that, that's a faulty assumption without evidence to back it up. We cannot conclude on the cause of why it's happening. We can only say that it happens, and that we have to deal with it. *extra edit* btw I am not singling you out, Eddie. If it is so, sorry. I just don't feel the assumptions that allows people to take that stances gives BBTS justice. We can all argue about price but this one doesn't even have a good enough backing to be argued =)
