Hi.

I want to purchase a new "fixed" Masterpiece Rodimus Prime from Japan. As you know he is reissued this month September and was released simultaneously with the new MP 10 convoy.

Is this new Rodimus Prime somehow marked so I can identify indeed the new one with the QC issues fixed?

 

When I get mine I'll post to let you know. That is if someone else doesn't post first.

@shadow panther: Apparently there were many QC issues, like easy breaking parts especially in the leg area (I don't know the specifics though). Of course it varies, some people had no issues at all.

If it's "fixed" like the tru version, I'd rather have the original, the pegs in the shin panels on mine weren't fully formed, and the new elbows are junk

 

anyone get version 2 yet? i would love to know what they "fixed"

 

The boxes are identical in every way. Except the stamp on the underside of the box, if you can view it in person the original said A0911 (for January 09, 2011) and the 2nd version says H2511 (for August 25, 2011).

I list some changes here, apparently some versions have the Hasbro elbows (mine does).

Unfortunately the Allspark is blocked from me anymore, so is there anyway you can list the changes here as well? I'm hoping to pick this version up, but only if the QC is vastly improved, and every little bit of info helps.

Got my Rodimus Convoy version 2.0 today.
Everythings pretty good apart from the chest piece on mine doesn't peg in securely. It comes up everytime I move the arms and the right hand wrist is very floppy.
Kinda bummed I thought all the issues would have been fixed.

 

Man, Oct 25 cant arrive soon enuf.

 

Conversely: My MP10 can't arrive soon enough.

 

I had to send my MP-10 back because he had two right antennae.

Maybe by now (2012) all the V1's have been flush out, and the V2's are all that remain. I pray for this seeing as how the domestic Hot Rod is just tacky. It's like what metal skin looks like after being out in the sun all day.

 

I seriously doubt it. BBTS still has plenty for sale.

I don't think the v1s are ever going to be "flushed out". As soon as v2 was announced, sales of v1 pretty much stopped dead. The ones retailers have been unable to get rid of are still all out there.

 

I have to say when I put them side by side, i like takara's a bit more- but there are a number of deco things about the hasbro version I like more. I'm fond of both (this is the only MP I've bought both versions of so far).
