I've been collecting some of the MMC reformatted line and have tried to find other characters that scale well with them (either HasTak or 3rd Party) but can't find options for Soundwave and Shockwave so far.

    Any suggestions?

They don't have to be exactly to scale - that would be near impossible I suspect - but I would like to find something close.

If anyone can suggest a Soundwave that has cassettes that would be an extra bonus.

    It was a genuine query.

Or just ask a mod to change the title to "Looking For CHUG Soundwave/Shockwave Options"

    Couple of options:

    1. G1 Soundwave - you can change its head to FOC Soundwave for a more modern look, which brings me to
    2. FOC (Voyager) Soundwave
    3. Siege Soundwave, though he’s a bit small

    for Shockwave:
    1. Siege - definitely on the small side
    2. Cyber Series - big but lacks articulation
    3. A custom based on Shockblast
    4. Second Chance military commander

I would also suggest Transformers Prime Shockwave, extremely underrated figure.

I'll look into FOC Soundwave; I have been collecting Siege stuff at the same time and that would definitely be a bit undersized. It's tough matching up as the reformatted line seems to be in a size category all of its own.

I'm not familiar with the fourth Shockwave suggestion so going to investigate that one.

    Thank you

I've been using Siege Shockwave and Soundwave, they're too small but the aesthetic is similar enough.

I'll look that up too thank you .

Just a shame Siege Shockwave without all the superfluous extra parts is a bit on the small side as I love the aesthetic.

None of those figures are to scale with MMC's figures, sadly.

No idea for Soundwave, save doing custom work (maybe use the Planet X Ironhide/Ratchet for a base?)

    For Shockwave:
    - the already mentioned Prime Shockwave
    - Energon Shockblast pehaps
    - Masterpiece -- if you don't extend the waist he's about MP seeker height which is not too dissimilar from MMC Kultur.

(Or wait for an oversized KO of the Siege version. I vaguely remember a promo shot that possibly had Shockwave on it.)

FOC Soundwave is a (relatively) IDW accurate, reasonably scaled Soundwave

FOC Shockwave is reasonably accurate to IDW though maybe a little small.

He's tiny compared to MMC's Megatron. But you have the Second Chance figure I mentioned before that looks very similar, only bigger

I use a KO of MP Shockwave. He's a little taller than MMC Tyrantron, but close enough for my sensibilities if they're not shelved next to each other.

Of course now Soundwave looks tiiiiny :D

Now that Planet X's Shockwave/Coeus out, it seems like a really good option especially for the Dark Cybertron arc.

Because all my MMC purchases are big guys (Tarn, Megatron, soon to be Optimus) I just use Hasbro stuff. Siege/ER Soundwave and Shockwave work fine for me.

I think what will hurt you are ‘normal sized guys’ like Rodimus being too big.

Well seeing as this thread has come back to life I'll respond. Picking up the Planet X Shockwave to go with my MMC stuff.

Considering the IDW comics scale was somewhat inconsistent anyhow I'm not worried about every bot being perfectly scaled as long as they are in the right area.

That said siege Soundwave and Shockwave are too small for my liking when compared to MMC stuff. I also find their Rodimus fits just fine scale wise.
