I searched and didn't see a thread for sports cards. I have a ton, I mean a ton of sports cards, all sports from about 1990-1999. I know those are considered "modern" years and not valuable as they were massed produced. But, I also know there are those occasional rookies and holos that are worth something. I tried searching, does anyone know a website to check a cards value? Is the only way to check value to go to a legit website selling cards and see how much they are selling for? I am not sure how else to check.

I had Basketball cards back when the Knicks were badass and the NBA was actually interesting. Anthony Mason, John Starks and Charles Oakley and Patrick Ewing.

Around 15 years ago, I dad bought a binder full with baseball cards from the early 90s. I found out a couple of years later that they're not worth much but I don't have the heart to get rid of them.

You're welcome. I collected back in the 80's and 90's and Beckett always had a monthly price guide for all the pro leagues at the local card shops.

Card shop owners were some of the biggest crooks back in the day.

I used to when I was about 10 or 11. I haven’t seen them in years though. I’ll have to track them down. I might have some valuable items there. I’ve got a ton of Steelers and Penguins cards. I think I might even have a rookie Aaron Rodgers card too now that I think about it.

Have you guys watched Jack of All Trades on Netflix? It’s a documentary about the sporting card boom of the late 80s and early 90s and how dealers and card companies manipulated the market and made fortunes. It talks about the infamous Ken Griffey Jr Upper Deck rookie and how Upper Deck may have reprinted thousands of those to sell to card shops under the table. Also talked about what a scam the Beckett price guide was.

I got out of cards about 1991 when I fell into the next greatest scam/get rich quick scheme... comic books. Well at least unlike cards, I could read the comics even after their values plummeted,

I did a bit in the late 80s early 90s, but never did after that. Mostly baseball.
