It was pretty heart-breaking for sure.

It was like the "Instruments of Destruction"-shuttle scene from the '86 movie. Clearing out the old to bring in the new.

What about all the innocent creatures on Lockdown's ship who probably bought it when it was being attacked by the Chinese Military in the end LOL.

Ratchet's death was sad, however after Prime's antics I'm glad the Autobots got a taste of their own medicine for once.

The worst thing about his death is that I think it's the most drawn out of all the movies. Ironhide's was pretty gruesome as well, but I don't think he suffered as long.

Ratchet's death (and Leadfoot's as well) were really done well. The betrayal cut deep and shows a darker side of society. I thought they were some of the best scenes in the movie.

Please remember some parts of the world are not getting the movie until almost a month's time, and choose your titles appropriately to avoid spoilers. This spoiled this part of the movie for me - and I was not even in the movie forum at the time, it showed up in the main forum thread listing.

Ratchet's death was the saddest in the trilogy. Poor guy was trying hard to escape and not kill any of the humans. I'm glad he did, though.

I liked Prime's reaction. It showed he cared about Ratchet, more so than Ironhide, I guess.

Ratchets death (though hard to watch) was very well done. It showed how capable humans had become at taking down large Transformers and how they did it mercilessly. No Transformer was deemed "good" anymore and this showed it.

It put into perspective how beat up and lucky to survive Optimus was when he was in the barn. How wary and distrusting he had become of humans due to the Autobot deaths he knew of - similar to Ratchets.

And most importantly, it was the introduction of the big bad.. Lockdown. And what a way to show it.

T'was a sad scene indeed. RIP, Ratchet.
Though I'm glad it was Lockdown who made the killing blow. It wouldn't be the same if humans did it...

I was a sad scene. Man, the animators and voice actors did a great job of making that really hit hard in the the whole heart department.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Prime's reaction- he was pissed, enough to come out of hiding and wreak havoc on a human facility.

Yes, because "Aw, Jazz" is more caring than "THEY BUTCHERED RATCHET!!! I'LL KILL THEM!!!" :lol

Saddest death in the movies so far! I wanted to beat up all the humans for butchering Ratchet. Ratchet should have said "Hey remember those rules of engagement I am the damn medic!"

That really annoyed me in DOTM. Prime, well, nobody gave a FUCK about Ironhide. Like, come on, Leadfoot gets mourned but Ironhide's death is never even mentioned or referred to, not once, in DOTM or AOE.

Because iron hide was just a weapon specialist not like jazz lead foot or ratchet where he was close to jazz and ratchet and lead foot is cooler than iron hide plus when sentinel said a deal had to be made iron hide should've turned around not just stand there.

There is a way, tho small, that Ratchet could be brought back. If Lockdown has Ratchet's spark on the ship and the Bots find it, they could try to bring him back.
