I just got a year-long Industrial Design Internship at GE (WOOT!!), and I don't really know anybody in KY (I live in Michigan), I'm going down there in early July and was wondering if anybody here wants to get in touch and make a fellow TF fan feel welcome?

Any tips on good comic/toy/anime shops to visit as well? Anything is appreciated

Comic Book World on Old Shepherdsville Road...The best shop IMHO...

Great Escape on Bardstown Road (If you are into Pubs and Microbrews this is also the area to be..they call this area the Highlands..

Oh Yeah, another thing...Since you will be working at GE...Comic Book World is actually directly down the street form the plant....

 

Turns out I'll be planning to move to Louisville (is it pronounced "Loo-a-vul"?) on the 26th of this month or so, yeah I'm PUMPED!!

There was actually a KY get-together a few months ago that several of us attended. I don't know if anyone came farther than I did (TN) or not. I know Sidecutter, Megamus, TaterX, and like 6-7 other board names that escape me at the moment because I suck with names were there as well.

So, yes, you are around TF fans  

 

I'm a TF fan myself between Louisville and Bowling Green. Theres a comicshop in Radcliff, just outside Lville called the ComicVault. The guy there cuts a pretty sweet deal on discounts for prepulled comics, been getting all the IDW stuff there.
Wish I had known about the great KY Transfanfest. I'd made the trip.

 

Wow, thanks for the hospitality guys! Maybe we could have another unofficial get-together soon? Whaddya say? I'd love to meet some more fellow transfans. As of now, I only personally know Maximus Prime (Avatar guy) and fastbalspecial.

 

There's talk of something like that happening. Not sure if any idle ponderings about gathering to see the movie will actually end up going down or not. But it was definitely something we will do again.

We're having an IMAX get together for the movie here in TN (only like 3 or 4 of us I believe) at Opry Mills in Nashville, if any of you want to come down  

 

if anyone around georgetown wants to meet up im all for it. im the only one in georgetown that collects transformers...... im 22 but i think there are little kids out there that collect them.. no one my age.

 

Hey all, this might sound weird, but is there anyone here with a truck or van (I only have a Cavalier) in the Louisville area? I'm moving down from Michigan on the 26th and probably gonna do some furniture shopping the 27th, and there are a couple of local furniture stores that I'd want to pick some stuff from (Home Today Furniture on N. Hustbourne looks REALLY IKEA-ish, lovin' it). I'll do pre-shopping and determine exactly what I want before we meet up so I'm not wasting your time and I can pay gas money in cash and a round of beer or two or Red Robin Burger dinner.

I do happen to own an E150 van. And I do happen to be a fan of gas money since it has a 35 gallon tank. I also happen to be a fan of burgers and beer...

Hey all! Just arrived here today! I got an apartment and now just getting settled in. Anybody down for some hanging out? Maybe we can meet at a comic shop or at a starbucks or something along those lines. I don't have internet yet (I'm typing this at starbucks at Taylorsville Rd), but for the time being I found some places with free wifi, so me checking in will not be as frequent. But I'm definitely down for making some new friends! I'll probably check this thread tomorrow, people show me some love!
