Even though Animated was pho-king awesome, I did miss Optimus having a mega blaster. I wonder if Prime will be bringing guns back into the mix.
Personally I preferred how Animated handled that side of things. But there's always going to be some stuff in there, like Megatron's fusion cannon.
I did too, but I do miss the Pew Pew with lighting and flashing all over the place (Like the crazy firefight in TFTM'86
Eh, put me in the camp that prefers close-range weaponry/non-blaster guns. If one of the Autobots had, say, a crossbow or a sniper rifle, I'd be fine, but... I usually prefer close range weapons for the heroes. They allow for more dynamic fightscenes, because with guns, you can just shoot at the other side of the screen, like in G1. If they have close range weapons, things can be a lot more dynamic. Look at Movie Prime with his swords in the forest fight, for example.
Seeing how Bumblebee mashes that Decepticon drone's face in, with parts coming off, I'd say it's safe to assume there will also be guns.
It's a tough call right now because we really haven't seen very much. Even in G1 that had lots of guns you didn't always see the characters with guns. Or perhaps it's like in the movies where arms transform into guns, which might explain the really big arms on some of the characters. Since they can draw on just about anything Transformers I would mind seeing a bit more of ranged weapons don't always mean guns. Blackout's wave weapon from the first Transformers movie was really cool so maybe they could work in a few weapons that think outside of the traditional boxes.
Since this series appears strongly movie-inspired, I'm betting there will be guns, though they might be integrated into the arms or something like Ash said.
I hope so. I love Animated but i love my Transformers to shoot each other than to cut or punch each other.
