I was in Target talking to the lady resetting the action figure aisle. They have a new type of endcap display and it's currently loaded with Bakugan. She said that it's on the schedule in "about six weeks" that Transformers "series 2" will be occupying the endcap. Before then, it will be used for Bakugan, Iron Man 2, and Toy Story 3.

Any idea if "series 2" is some sort of internal Target terminology? I've certainly not heard it used by Hasbro before.

Any idea if there's a major release in six weeks to warrant an endcap display? Perhaps Leader SS or the new fancy Bumblebee? Certainly not the new combiner line?

Most likely the "Hunt For The Decepticons" subline.

It's most likely "Hunt for the Decepticons". RotF has, as far as I can tell, only one more wave to go, and it's just two Deluxe class repaints. HfD is the new main line that's going to take over once RotF is off the shelves. While PCC and Generations are going to be two smaller sub-lines. Six weeks does sound about right for when it's supposed to start up.

I think this should move to Toy discussion.

6 weeks? I could have sworn I heard that new stuff wouldn't be out until around August at ToyFair.

That's what I was thinking, as well. I thought "Hunt for Decepticons" figures weren't out until end of summer...?

If that were the case with the exception of 1 more wave of deluxes we would be looking at the same stuff for 5 months. Not very likely.

I'd imagine the first sightings of War for Decepticons will be around May-June time, rather than end of summer. End of Summer is probably the projected date that the line will be out in full force.

It's possible it might be coming in July though, which would likely give Botcon another advance release deal. Though I couldn't see a street date being set purely for Botcon's sake.

I wouldn;t be surprised at all if it was the Hunt for the Decepticons subline. We've seen plenty of in-package shots from them already, and the actual RoTF toyline has all but been released. I'd be surprised if Hasbro wants the same stuff gathering dust until the end of August. However lately it seems like they've been pushing new product out like wildfire which is pretty surprising too so who knows?

Spring is traditionally the lull in new releases. 6 weeks sounds about right for the earliest of sightings, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Hunt for Decepticons on the shelves by the start of Summer.

Yeah, but at Toy Fair, they were talking about figures being released in the Spring that have been out on shelves here since the end of January or beginning of February like the Target Legends two-packs or Mindwipe or Skystalker's Scout wave.

The way I see it, Spring and Summer are going to be HftD seasons. Generations and PCC will be in stores by Fall.

    Hunt for the Decepticons.

I desperately hope this is "series 2" and that it will in fact show up in about six weeks.

I wonder if it does not refer to the toys as such - but to the promotion - the promotion on ROTF in 2009 was Series 1 - this is Series 2 (perhaps it means promotion cycle #2 on Transformers....)

    Just a possible though.

It is possible that Generation might show up quicker than we first thought as NEST stuff was actually early in America in some areas compared to when Hasbro said it was due.

The Figures for War For Cybertron need to be out before the game really - but I'd guess March is a bit to early for them.

It's probably just a NEST Promotion though.

Is the "Hunt for the Decepticons" gonna be the yellow box line?

Yes, yes it is. It's the new main line that's taking over once RotF is over.

Thanks, I try not to look at upcoming toys and info too much so when I buy my toys it not like buying something I've already owned.
