2009 is the 25th anniversary of Transformers franchise, so I wonder how big the chance for a reissue of MP-01 by Takara or Hasbro in any form? (repackage, or straight reissue)

Considering it's already been re-released multiple times by now, and that the Hasbro version was a massive shelfwarmer, I doubt it.

Then again, there were a lot of rumors at the beginning the year stating that Takara were planning on doing a massive MP Prime/Megatron 2-pack, so maybe that'll happen next year. Seems like a pretty perfect giftset idea for the 25th Anniv.

Takara already did Mp-04 with trailer and Hasboro released the cartoon colored one last Christmas.

I don't feel like Hasbro is going to do all that much this year for the 25th Ann. - there seems to just be the G1 Prime re-issue and then the Universe packaging mod and that's it. Hasbro even said they aren't doing any other G1 re-issues this year and that the bulk of their focus is on ROTF.

But, yes, MP Prime will probably come back again at some point. We may even see a MP Nem. Prime or some other repaint (besides Magnus), as well.

I actually could see another Takara/Tomy run, as for Hasbro I dont see it as again it shelvewarmed something bad over here.

I wouldn't mind a Nemesis Prime version of this mold, but another re-re-release seems excessive for both companies.

It seems like whenever they reissue it, the color keeps getting orange from red.

    ???

i doubt it...as mentioned above, takara kinda reissued it as mp-04, plus trailer. and hasbro did the 20th anniversary and the 20th anniversary DVD edition versions of it...
is there any particular reason u want MP-01 reissued? coz MP-04 is awesome :D

Its funny how we get repaints of everything else but we havent seen a Nemisis Prime Repaint of MP-01. This seems like a super easy money maker.

I don't have one yet...and it's really expensive to buy one now. Really regret that I didn't buy the 20th dvd version when it was shelfwarming T.T

personally, i dont like the dvd version.. looks cheap, and i think it doesnt have the chrome parts.. not really a replacement for the MP.. the 20th anniversary one (non-dvd :D ) is pretty much as good..and quite a bit cheaper..try hunting one down on ebay..

My favorite version is the original 20th anniversary Prime with battle damage. I bought both 20th and MP then swapped the stacks. I then sold the MP version with the short stacks but I kept the MP box as I like the displayability of the MP box more than Hasbro box.
