Hoping some 3rd party designers start appreciating BW more and let others deal with the characters that every 3rd party has seemed to put out already. Heck I'd even like the G1 dinobots over any of the stuff we are seeing now.

I'd love someone to produce a Rhinox that doesn't completely suck.

Well what makes it tough its that some of the small touches you'd need on an animal might not come across, like weird eyes and stuff. Could be an issue in terms of getting it to look just right.

I'm still holding out hope. I wants me some pre-beast mode maximals and predacons, and even some very nicely done updates. I came into Transformers with G2 but it was Beast Wars that kept me hooked and really made me love everything Transformers!

I wouldn't write it off yet. Those are the ONLY things they've teased for near the future other than the Blackarachnia retool of Arcee. They've just been releasing things at a slow pace. They only released one new mold in the last year, and it was something that was announced before Lio Convoy and Big Convoy were.

I know there are some talking about updating the looks to make them, well, not look so bad. The series was cool, but man, the designs were NEVER my taste..at all. if someone could make them cool, I would bite

Can't blame them. G1 fans are guaranteed to move the thousands of units needed to make these projects plausible.

Beast Wars fans with deep pocket books are a much narrower subset of the fanbase.

They were probably seeing if there was interest before even starting on the project. There was a very positive reaction to them on here. So hopefully they decide to make them. Besides these, I would love to see someone take a shot at Star Upper. lol

Thats always been my thought behind it.Us G1ers are in our 30s(some 40s)with buying power. Most of us have extra money to burn.BW folks are still in there 20s?.Still living at home or starting a family.I say give it a coulpe more years. They have to run out of G1 characters at some point.

There was Mixcoatl. A clear Beast Wars homage, even if he used G1 parts...

I do have worries that the measures a 3rd party company would have to go through to make the toys different enough from the original designs to avoid legal trouble would make for some pretty subpar BW updates. I mean most of the BW characters' designs are pretty important IMO. I'd absolutely love to be proven wrong though. I've wanted a good Rhinox for years and its pretty apparent Hasbro isn't interested in making it despite Rhinox being on their so-called "short list".

I'm a G1 kid (started collecting in '84), but I discovered Beast Wars in my 30s and I fell in love with it. I buy tons of 3P G1 stuff, but I'd be just as stoked for 3P BW figures (I'm dying for those two PE figures to come out, for example).

    I can't be alone.

Your story is very close to mine. G1 kid but didn't collect but I had a few and loved the show. TF's got lost in time due to no show on TV and to me hitting my teens. Enter BW and my love for Transformers returned and that is when I became an actual fan and collector; I was 20 at this point. So OG1er but a Beasties at heart.

I also buy 3p products by the boat load to complete my Classicverse (which is almost there and will be even closer by the end of 2013) and for my HoS line :)

I would totally and completely be on board with a 3P BW line that made the figures look great and created a scale. TBH the scale would be the most important thing for me because I still think a lot (definitely not all) of the original BW figures did a great job looking like their on screen counterparts.

The only place you and I differ is that I am all about the American side of BW so BW and BM only, I have no connection with the BW2 and BWN stuff. I would also prefer groups to focus on good BW figures with Beast modes vs their Cybertronian modes first.

Obviously there is a market for 3rd party BW figures, but lets be real here: the gravy train is still with the G1 updates. There's a reason why nearly every 3rd party company is sticking with G1 figures... Us Beasties need to wait until that train slows down, which may be awhile.
