I designed and printed these wheels after seeing what possessed digit did here: Minor/Repaint: - Siege Crosshairs Big Wheels 2.0 Modeled after the original G1 wheels. Bonus hover mode. The joints have a built-in stop to keep them from buckling in car mode. I will share the files on thingiverse soon.
I suppose I could but anyone buying them would be a guinea pig. The tolerances work on my printer but I'd have no idea how they would come out on their machines, and the parts snap together, that might break that shapeways material.
They are printed in PLA. It has just enough flex to allow the joint parts to snap together without breaking. For those asking for files, I will be uploading them to thingiverse tonight or tomorrow.
hey looks nice and great work as always. i was wondering if you have any thoughts about tossing your titan hands and ramps on thingiverse. i would love to be able to print out a set for my bot. just wondering is all.
Files are live: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4103739 Thingiverse has been having issues lately, the pics aren't working but you should still be able to download the files.
A lot of people have migrated to MyMiniFactory because of that. On there you also have the option to sell the print files if you want.
Actually haven't gotten to test em yet. The hinges are a bit loose just playing around with em, but I think that's more due to the prints I've gotten. I'm assuming the hubcaps need to be glued in? I can't see the ones I have staying in otherwise. I counted on a level of customization on my end, and I'm fine with that, of course.
The hubcaps I printed stay in with friction and the joints aren't loose, but it's to be expected across different printers.
