Don't know if you all have heard of Dead Dog Beach on Yabucoa Beach in Puerto Rico. It's name speaks for itself. It's where people take dogs to leave them, throw them off a pier, or go just shoot dogs for fun (would like to move there, hide , and shoot back) link http://www.dalmatianrescue.com/Dead_Dog_Beach.htm Well the family dog has died ( RIP Fergie ) and mom finally decided to get another dog, but she did'nt want a pup, she wanted one broken in that did'nt tear up crap. Her and a work buddy went to this beach, and rescued one of the dogs there. Took a few days to clean it up, then she brought her home. It hates other dogs, but is great around kids and cats, chews lightly and lazy. It's like a black version of Yellow dog from funny farm So meet the new family dog (still need name)
That was the first time I ever heard of the place, when she told me about it and her dog mission. I was like"what?"
She went all the way to Puerto Rico to get a dog? I mean it's good she saved a dog, but that seems like a long trip to get a new dog. Glad people want to save them.
That's what I was wondering. It's nice and all, but it's...I don't know. Unless his mom already lives there, then it makes perfect sense.
Yeah, that's what I thought, I even took her to some dog places here first when she visited to hopefully find her one, but this new work friend of hers has really gotten her pumped about it. The other lady was going down to get one too and mom usually rides with her when she comes down here. Her friend is from London, but her family is a few hundred miles from here. Those women fly everywhere, since they're jobs require them to travel so much, they go all over the place now. I call it midlife post menopause crisis They did'nt actually walk on the beach and grab a dog, a lady gave them a tour around the area in a car, showing them different areas, and took them to a shelter spot where the animals are mostly fixed up. But this dog was still skinny as hell and they had to treat it a bit before letting it go to a home.
My wife's mom is going through that. She's almost 60, and she and her other lady friends have decided that dancing around a fire naked during the summer solstice is the new norm. She's a very normal, nice, pillar-of-society kind of lady, and isn't into wiccan or any of that. It's so freaking weird and you would NEVER suspect she would be into something like that. No, thank god, I have not personally witnessed it.
Pics? lol Yeah, last month was the first time I seen my mom dance. They get silly when they get past that 50 mark. I need to start keeping an eye on those wine coolers for her
I saw this on the news. They have a major problem with their animal control authorities in PR. Wonder if they ever become a state, how this could change.
How Exciting!!! My name is Ginny and I have a rescue group that rescues dogs from Dead Dog Beach where you got your beautiful girl! When did you rescue her? I'm trying to find out info about her at the beach from the woman who works with the dogs at the beach. You can find out more information about us at www.handsforpaws.org Thank you for rescuing her!!!
Dead Dog Beach...that was one piece of info I wish I had remained ignorant about... But good to hear that you managed to rescue one.
Some days you feel like there's things about this world you're a little happier not knowing about... Good to hear one has been saved though.
Glad she was able to rescue one. It's so sad when people abuse animals like that. Our dog, Charlie was severely abused when we got him and it took nearly three years for him to freely go up to Kev without running away.
Wow... that place is just as sick as people killing seals for "sport"...... Glad that you have a new member of the family and hope the pup lives comfortably in your home..
Good to hear of other people in animal rescue. Both of our dogs came from a rescue group, and we are fostering a third. It's amazing how much love you can get from them for so little work.
Dead Dog Beach I'm glad for another recued dog! My wife Sandra and I live close to the dead do beach and have seen first hand the cruel acts done to these unfurtunate animals. She works with local rescuers and created a web page with info on the animals rescued and already adopted from the beach; http://sandrai.blogspot.com/ Thank God not everybody in the island is the same.
Makes me happy to know that these dogs will go to loving homes. =3 Pisses me off that law enforcement sucks so bad over there to lets shit like this happen in the first place. >8U
