Just a little diddy I did last year. A worn, g1-ish paint job and modified the head to look more like his G1 self. Not my first or last custom, but I'm always just too lazy to take pics and post. Needed some shelf space so decided to snap a few shots.

I love the colours. What colours/paint did you use?

I remember reading another kitbasher claiming that this is thing is 18"-19". I finally got one. Quite a disappointment in size.

    Thanks everyone.

As far as the paint goes. I started off with a base of grey primer. The primer I used for some reason wasn't a good mix and gave off an unsmooth texture, but it ended up working for what I did.

To get the yellow to work, I first dry brushed the areas I wanted in yellow with the brightest white - it was a thin layer of white.

Then, I painted some of the detailed areas with an ochre yellow brown orange mix with basic walmart acrylics. it could be painted over the grey since it was a nice thick color.

After that, I used a base yellow that was lightly coated over the entire area. I believe with that yellow I used a testors model maker mixed in with a little bit of basic acrylic orange ( the kind you can find at walmart) I made it so that it was a bit more " yellow orange".

Model Maker is a bit too thin, but it sticks well to the plastic. The addition of orange helped make the paint less transluscent and thicken it up.

So I did several very light layers of that. Then used that same original yellow but instead lightened up with a little white for one final layer . You can't tell in the pics but there are multiple layers of a similar hue.

Alot of people will prefer to do just a yellow with black highlights. Which is cool too.

But I guess the trick is to start off with a yellow orange after a drybrushed white base, then go lighter after that to achieve the brilliant " sun" yellow thaty ou see there

The paints were Model Maker and Cheap Acrylics from Walmart which can be very effective. Combining those two in the right amounts will get you what you see in the pics.

yeah its about the size of unicron /primus, and perhaps a bit larger than the original.

Wish I could take credit for the symbol but its actually part of the sculpt. I didn't notice it until I actually painted it. Quite a pleasant surprise if you ask me. So I wanted to make it stand out! Yeah, I miss the energon/cybertron era when they put alot of time into the sculpt.

The head scult of the main Omega head looks so much like the cartoon when you take off the visor; its just so ridiculous! Also has some pretty cool robo-lips!
