https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/mixmaster-cab-upgrade-split-for-color I remixed an excellent existing design, I split it up so parts can be printer in different colors. Printed in lulzbot green. Check the link for more info.
Really? Got any pics of it in use with Devy? EDIT: NM, found an example, now to buy some and reprint the entire thing. Yay!
Might, but it took about 9-10 hours of printing to make one - to be worth my time I would have to charge probably $25 a pop + shipping.
Hey look, a Longhaul that doesn't suck. What's going on there? Partsforming? Completely redesigned limbs? I want to get in on some of that.
haha. Thanks. That’s what I thought when I came up with the concept. I thought he could do with a bit of an entire body lift. Lol. There’s no parts forming on the arms but it does give him a much wider body in vehicle mode. I was planning to revisit at some point and design a wider dumper to compensate. Haven’t gotten to that yet. the legs do parts form. You just pop those shins off and attach them to the back of the vehicle. So, the mods do make a less than ideal vehicle mode (currently) but for the gains in robot mode, it more than made up for it. The designs were for the mini Devastator figures. I changed up Long Haul, Scrapper, MixMaster and Hook. But, what you can hopefully see is that the filament used for those add on parts is an almost perfect if not perfect match for the stock green. So, if you get hold of some Lulzbot green you won’t be disappointed.
That’s awesome. I printed a replacement cab I found on Thingiverse for mine a while back...but I have to say that I like your design more. How securely does it attach to Mixmaster?
Very. It clicks on and holds solid. It will not fall off unless you pull with good force. I've made some other small changes like rounding the windshield and tiding up the connector, I'll show those when I print up the new one in proper green that is being delivered later this week.
I'll have to check that out. Your design is just more refined than the one I used. Mine looks half decent sitting on the shelf, but it flops around and falls off as soon as I move it. Plus it looks derpy.
To be fair, as I stated in the OP, it's not MY design - I took an existing one piece cab design off thingiverse and split it up into parts and made some changes. I modified the hell out of it but I didn't make the original.
