Transformers: Age Of Extinction Concept art from John J. Park
I guess they didn't intend to change Optimus' design at first. I really like these concept arts, especially the ones with Galvatron's lab.
Is that an old design for Galvatron I see? I wonder what that is to the left of him (our left), a blocky bot with a jet cockpit on his chest? or is that its back?
Could be, or perhaps the new Optimus design wasn't approved yet, and John J. Park simply used the old one for sake of finishing the artwork on time. I'm sure the actors, director, set designers, etc. using it as reference for the scene don't need the exact Optimus design; it's not like he grows 50 feet or anything.
... although you'd expect "Notes" to say something to the effect of 'old design, new one pending'.
that lab sketch is interesting... jet cockpit guy and the dude in the center is based off of DOTM skyhammer, with the cockpit shoulders and the limb details... almost has the rotor chest too. only thing that's not from the toy really is the head. looks like a straigjt up altered stock photo but it doesn't match hasbro's or the takara CGI for skyhammer...
that art of cade fixin up optimus is beautiful.
galvatron looks like...
^ Hmmm, interesting...
A part of me really wishes that they kept the Peterbilt look for Prime. I just think It would have looked so badass, despite the knight-ish look he has now.
Cool set designs.
If only it was true...
Very nice!Thanks for sharing!
It looks like Shia in the abandoned theater, maybe they originally wanted to keep him.
