These things sucked. They just put the name "transformers" on them so they could sell. That didn't help. LOL.

But... I wouldn't mind hearing WHY people like these. And I'd love to see pics..

Oh boy. They were a good concept, but very badly executed. Most of them were partsformers where some of the beast modes had to be pieced together with separate pieces. Sometimes the beast mode would be awkward looking, along with the human mode. I still thought they were alright. I had the lion, tiger, and the bird. I did like how some of them had a mid-morph face.

The bird one, I think, is one of the best figures in this line. No partsforming required to transform him. I made up a third mode that drastically improves the figure IMO.

    Boring human mode:

I like how you can fit some weapons in his hand.

The bad guys looked ok. It was the human forms that screwed the good guys.

I have a few of the bad guys that I'm looking to sell; pm me if you're interested.

I thought that the bad guys made for cool G1 season 3-type aliens. Aside from that, that's about all of the appreciation I can muster for this line.

See, I was (and I still am, I suppose) willing to overlook some of this stuff because Animorphs was the first book series I liked reading as a child.

Also the Ax/Scorpion figure was the best :D

I have Jake (the hawk who Insecticon gave an epic 3rd mode too) and Rachel, the deformed lion girl. Both are okay toys, and I still take them out and fiddle around with them from time to time.

I love the whole damned line. If nothing else, it was Hasbro's first attempt at a "CrossOvers" line I'm glad they got their feet wet really early on, which has resulted in pretty decent SW and Marvel TFs.

Moreover, while many of the Animrophs are dodgy, I don't deny it, some of them are DARN cool. The MEGA scale Tobias/hawk remains, IMO one of the best bird transformers of all time, the Ultra-Scale Viscer 3(? The bad guy) is this cool quad-changing monster that looks scary and evil and cool in all his modes. I've got about 4 of those kicking around.

    And finally: Tri-rex.

I am going to turn him/them into a TF custom someday. The T-rex is a great toy, large, electronic sounds, just fun. The three "humans" it seperates into....don't look at all like humans, but have REALLY interestingly deformed proportions, which creatively re-imagined to be an intentional design-element are actually VERY cool in that alien-creature kind of way. Sort of Bay-former esque, really.

Miss that quirky little line, I really do.

I have all but the three uber-rare ones. If anyone can put me onto Ax/Panther, Jake/Stingray, and Taxxon/Alien, top dollar will be provided.

Also need the mega-size Tobias/Raptor Hawk, which is not rare, but I can't seem to find for under $40 or so.

Ax/Panther was always kicking around my area. I NEVER saw Jake/Stingray, Taxxon/Yeerk, or Marco/Beetle. I wanted them the most.:(

I only own both Visser 3 toys.

That's a good reference, but I've seen pictures of the Stingray and the Taxxon in package, so it was definitely produced to some degree, however limited that may have been.
