Animated, where do we go from here?

What are you looking for with the rest of Animated?

First off, I want to thank a certain member who hooked me up with the new Animated exclusives. You rock! But now that we have the last two that were confirmed, where do we go from here? I almost want Hasbro to say "That's it. Animated is done. Case closed.", just to avoid the anxiety you get sometimes from wondering if you will ever see the Animated exclusives. After all at least here in the states, the words Toys R Us, Animated, and exclusives, have caused cold sweats and sleepness nights. ( I'm over dramatizing it, I know there are way worse things in life.) Are you ok with picking up the last few releases from the Japanese line, or are you done, or do you want more? I know we always want more. But if Hasbro said, "That's it.", I would be happy with what I got. Just want to say Thank You Hasbro, and Thank You Toys R Us, for bringing us these last few waves.

I kind of busted butt to get Blackout and RB Ultra Magnus a month or so ago.

But...after rearranging my collection recently and once again redirecting the scope of my collecting, I've decided that Animated, much like Beast Wars, is a series I can enjoy through the media without owning the toys.

A few of the Animated pieces I really enjoy and will keep, but the rest I recently put up for sale. So..uh, if anyone wants a Blackout... yea...hit me up.

In the end, while I love the engineering, the look is too different in too many places for me to want to hold on to the toys. (and I'm someone who is perfectly fine adding in Animated Wreck Gar and Arcee to my classics suff, after all, S3 G1 was WAY different that S1 or S2 G1 stuff). Added bonus, I don't have to look for Rodimus or Ironhide, both of whom I feel have somewhat of an unbalanced look about them.

Honestly unless some miracle happens we'll just have to go to Takara for the unreleased figures. It's a real shame to because I think most of us here can agree that Animated went too soon before giving us a toy of everyone involved (and season 4!). I think it's one of the only Transformer lines that had every character who got a toy featured in the show somehow.

I'm sure there will be an homage down the road in Animated style, say sometime down the line in Generations. We've already seen the effects it had on the property though. Incredible engineering and a few new characters who are now mainstays.

I'm waiting for a 3rd party to rise to the challenge and start producing the remaining toys (Constructicons, Hot Shot, Red Alert, etc)

    I'm just about done.

W/O a new head Fugitive Wasp is redundant, IMO.

As soon as i look at them, Sunstorm and Starscream fall over and fall apart, meaning i can't be bothered opening Skywarp and i don't expect too much from any Voyager Thundercracker or Ramjet that may release.

If was fun while it lasted, and hopefully Prime will turn out well.

I'm good with my collection as it is.....save for getting Rodimus and Ironhide. Unless they produce an Omega Supreme, which I doubt, I'm good.

I think I'd prefer if Hasbro would just come out and say, "We're done." Then we'd know for the future if Takara released any more characters we could just get those through various channels. I'd like a couple more characters to least finish out the seekers, etc. and I don't mind going to Takara to get them if need be.

I'll have to admit that deep down inside, I want Thundercracker/Wasp/etc. I've loved Animated's toyline from start to finish and I'm actually sad that the release of Rodimus and TakTom Blackout means we're pretty much done with new toys.

Blackout, Thundercracker, Wasp, done. Just one more TRU exclusive wave, as much as I hate store exclusives.

Heck, as much as I'd rather have Wasp than the Waspinator that I already own, I'd settle for just the two Voyagers.

And, yes, I know how much harder a sell voys are than deluxes.

Thought it was done with before ROTF movie, but I don't mind $3 or $5 deluxes on clearance.

I'd love to see the release of MB Bulky, Thundercracker, Wasp, redeco Swindle, etc. If Hasbro/Takara call it quits, I'd love to see them pop up as Botcon Exclusives someday :)

I just need the Wingblade Prime, that's really it. I'm getting the Jetpack Bumblebee pretty much on an impulse buy, hoping I like the scale. Deluxe Bees are by and large just a little too big.

    I want Thundercracker, period.

It'd also be nice if Season 3 of Animated would be released on DVD somehow (individually or in a boxed set with Season 1 & 2) but I'm not exactly holding my breath either.

I'm hoping Takara can come through if Hasbro can't find stores to release the remaining toys...but I'm getting less optimistic as time goes by.

I would absolutely love it if Hasbro releases the remaining Animated figures... Voyager Thundercracker, Fugitive Wasp, the repaints of Blurr and Swindle, and an American release of Blackout.

But if Hasbro doesn't, and Takara-Tomy releases figures of the Animated characters who didn't get figures here in the U.S., then I can complete my Animated collection just by buying the Takara ones.

Fugitive Wasp is the main one I want as a exclusives. Though if Animated Spittor or Rattrap would get a figure on the Takara/Tomy side, I would want them too.

As much as I am prettymuch done with Animated, the advertisement for Wasp, and the pictures from those lucky enough to have gotten Thundercracker really make me want those two.
