What would convince Knight to stick around and have a greater role in the creative process?

Just give me more Cybertronian toys.

I am not getting WFC: Siege and am waiting on this live action one instead.

I completely agree. I also don’t think calling someone a “fucking idiot” or going on about how stupid they are is constructive criticism.

To be clear, I don’t think Lorenzo is some amazing producer. He’s contradicted himself in interviews and sometimes comes across uninformed, but these armchair “critics” on here make me laugh. He’s produced several highly successful films so he’s obviously not inept. Too many people these days act like they’re experts on every topic without realizing how much actual work and skill goes into something.

Oh wow, well THAT was unexpected!! Soooooooo did they wait til they saw what kind of reception the Bumblebee-movie would get before moving-forward with this? Probably a smart-move, since they'll likely overhaul the looks of all the characters now........and lastly, will this act as some mild-continuity & tie-in with the live-action sequels somehow or be its own separate-entity altogether? Hopefully this doesn't discourage Travis Knight from pursuing a Cybertron-based CGI-version which he mentioned recently, that's GOTTA happen.

So? Just because you can produce good films doesn't mean you can't also produce shit. Look at Jon M. Chu, the guy who produced (and directed) the Jem film from 2015 - a film so historically bad and underperforming that it saved Paramount money by pulling the film after only two weeks instead of leaving it running in theaters.

Sounds like Jon M. Chu shouldn't have gotten work in the industry again for making something that magnificently bad, right? Well, no, he also produced Crazy Rich Asians which released this past October and is considered one of the most profitable RomComs in the last decade.

That isn’t my point at all. I’m talking specifically about the people in this thread who act like they know more about a job (that they don’t do) than the person who does that job.

I would think part of that job at least would entail not spewing made up bullshit that is easily proven wrong from citing information the producer themselves should be fully aware of.

As I asked in another thread.
Wasn't Boulder Media working on something similar at one point?

But people refer to things they don't like as "pure shit" all the time. I think it's almost always hyperbolic, but people are allowed to not like things, just like they're allowed to like things.

I do think that fans need to be careful about how they want things executed on-screen. Truth be told, adapting things verbatim from the comics, toy bios, and cartoons is not always the right way to do things for movies that need to interest general audience members as well. Sometimes, you need to change things a little bit, which might piss some fans off, but EVERYTHING is going to piss at least some fans off.

    Yes, thank you.

Look the cold blooded murder thing works with the Punisher. But Optimus is not the Punisher, it is strange as I am rewatching the Bayfilms in order now after seeing Bee and its like Prime is Bipolar. He goes all over the place with his emotions.

All I am saying is when Sentinel is saying "optimus Nooooo!" It's just not a satisfying kill, it made me squirm in my seat. Now when he kills Lockdown it fits, he has to to save Cade. Hell in AOE he is way more justified to go nuts because he is upset about Ratchet and his friends..in DOTM Ironhide gets melted and no one reacts..so its just weird....

I wouldve prefered megaton killed sentinel OR Prime did it quick in battle.

Funny, I always thought a producer’s job involved telling a certain amount of BS. ;-)

That’s cool I guess. Just please don’t use those ugly pre-Earth designs from the Bumblebee movie. Please.

Pretty sure the Jem movie was from Universal, not Paramount.

Ah, good point, my mistake there.

Lorenzo had nothing to do with Jem. I have no love for Goldner all the same and Allspark Pictures has not entirely been worth the money poured into it for the paltry return on investment. Money that could have gone into other places that would have benefited Hasbro more.

God, it's not like I want to give the Ret-con faction any ammunition, but isn't it possible Bumblebee's been to Earth in the past? Somebody scoped out the planet to give Optimus those images, it was probably the scout brigade.

Also Bumblebee isn't Bumblebee on Cybertron, he's B-117 (or whatever) maybe he took the name from a more famous Autobot who died and maybe THAT was the bot from WW2.

And Sir Witwiky can't tell the difference.

Interestingly enough Centurion also wields a War Hammer like that World War 2 ZB-7.
