Awesome review and thanks for the pics. (real response now and not just a rushed one ) This is, without a doubt, the best bike TF ever. Where are the cons? The turn-offs? I see none! The bike mode did a clever trick. Unintentional or not, with the headlights. (which change color between modes on the show) The throwing stars still amaze me with there size. The overall engineering of this figure is far beyond anything we've seen in a bike TF before. I think it's just that whole ideal of "everything is a weapon to a ninja!" As for that noisy noisemaze, I'm surprised people give a troll like him the satisfaction of a reply. He's not even posting for the sake of expressing his opinion, now he just wants to get under peoples skin.
fantastic. looking that this reminds me why i didnt buy movie arcee, movie arcee is one hell of an ugly piece, over detailed with clumsy aesthetics, this is totally the opposite. Prowl looks very nicely balanced from the bellbottomed lower leg to the nice wings on the back and all achieved whilst hiding the alt mode very cleverly. What impresses me with the animated designs is that the designer/s have done something perhaps not seen since the original G1 line up (and it is subjective of course) but its that optimal blend of easy transformation, great alt and robo mode (with nice balanced aesthetics eg g1 prowl) but importantly with a seemingly minimum of fuss and detail, these are the closest things to TF art i have seen, many will scoff at that statement but that prowl is destined to be a design classic, just like the gen 1 toy (and im not sure what a design classic is but i im pretty convinced that the movie toys will not be amongst them). OK, so the face is a little extreme but thats because of the cartoon, id prefer a little less exaggertaion in the fcaes but that whats makes tham fun, thats whats going to draw the kids in and thats whats going to make this series very popular. if the kids dont like these toys i'll be suprised and that will at least allow people to find them in shops eventually. one thing i cannot get my head round are those people who will only get the toys if they like the cartoon or a particular character, to my mind a good toy is a good toy, its a bonus if it tallies with a cartoon you enjoy but i would never buy on the basis of my appreciation (or otherwise) of a cartoon aimed at 6-11 year olds.
i remember the early comments well, incredible dispays of 'arguments from incredulity/ignorance'. 'these wont be transformable' 'they will have to be made of rubber' 'they will be cybertron repaints' 'that simply cannot transform into that' many of these types of comments were thown out after that very first poster image of prime, i was wondering if some had insider info, seems that it wasnt that but a mere lack of imagination. i found it hard to believe that hardwiring could hit people at such an early age.
Prowl is obviously constructed from Winnium (Wi), a rare-earth element that seems to be plentiful in the Animated universe
I like everything about this bot but the exaggerated headsculpt. I may get it and try to bash him a different head and make him my own character. I'd like to repaint him too, black & gold is too Smokey & the Bandit for my taste.
I love everything about this figure and every figure I have seen fro this line, they're just so well designed and beautifully stylized. I could happily do without the goofy traffic light thing but that aside Prowl looks awesome! Yours AK
Cool. Thanks for posting the review. I can't wait to get this figure (I'm hoping I wing Optimus's little contest, but, I'm not going to get upset if I don't). Hopefully the next 6 months go quickley, and that when we finally do get Animated figures on the pegs and shelves, they are easy to obtain.
He certainly seems to be. Glad to see you've finally come around. Anyway, thanks tons for the pics and review, Glitch. Prowl is amazing! I'll second the "what figures are in scale to ride him?" request. Meanwhile, why the heck haven't we seen a Ratchet test shot surface yet? Really antsy to get a better look at him.
