I'm glad it's doing well for the kids and the Transformers brand in general. However, I still wish we had an "American" written show that didn't have to be mostly silly.
I like some of the characters but the overall feel of this show kind of ruins the potential for those characters to me. But hey, my friends five year old little boy adored the show. It hit it's mark. :)

I just don't know where the calls of 'ratings gathering is fake or flawed' or 'Fake artificial ratings from the movie and the series will be seen as poor in retrospect'

Even if the kids like it only because the movie.... who cares? They have rosey-colored glasses about TFs, even if the series is garbage they will be fighting on the net 20 years from now how it was magical to them.

Want to talk about Movie hype? Carnage in C minor and the rest of season 3 after the movie? And yet we love G1.

Well I could be lumped together with those kids who discovered TF via the movie, because I had more or less forgotten the entire toyline and cartoon before it. Discovery (and initial HORROR) of the movie brought me back. Yep, I like Animated too, despite being an old fan of G1, but hey, I realize this is for kids.

    (Hint: Embrace your inner child?)

You mean an American TF show that's more adult themed. If it's 'silly' but the kids like watching it then that simply means it's for them and not for all of us. Well, maybe CN will produce one and show it on Adult Swim. Or some other network will pick it up:rolleyes:  because TFs are so hot now, but then you have the movies to look forward to.
If G1 had been airing today instead of Animated, I'm pretty sure we'd get the exact same comments from some adult fans.

Personally, I'm glad because it really looks like the Transformers legacy still lives on[IMG]

Maybe if the franchise grows to the next step with the 3 movies and the shows, we will get an adult-swim TF series?

Clone wars animated series was an example of this. Maybe for one of these movies we will get promotional adult swim Tf series? you never know. I mean Adult-swim was the targeted by TF advertising... It was like 7 times a night we got those previews.

Okay, so this is Nielson Ratings, and I'm not sure, since it's been so damn long since I've filled out one of the books.

Does it take into account the recording and digital download showings as well? I know one of the rating groups does, I wasn't sure it was Nielson though. If the data doesn't reflect this, it would be interesting to see how those numbers might reflect.

This begs the question, what were five and twelve year-olds watching?

Since there are not official digital distributions, they can't be rated.

And twelve year olds are watching scrambled porn!!!

It wouldn't be the first time it's happened. But I'm not going to get into a snit about it.

I'm sorry if you feel it's silly. But the last thing it was made mature, dark and gritty was BEAST MACHINES. And that didn't exactly sit well with anyone due to its over-emphasis on Nature versus Technology themes.

Someday you might have that again. But now is NOT the time for ruminating on dark depressing stories or story arcs that take three years to finish.

Don't feel sorry. I'm a big boy. I can handle a cartoon not living up to what I'd like it to be. :lol  It's just wishful thinking. I'm not into Animated so much because of it's silliness. If not for the silly look and actions I think it would have more potential of being a good TF series instead of just a fun one. It is fun, but not memorable to me.
I agree with ya on BM. Too heavy handed, but Beast Wars was fun for both kids and adults. Granted some of the loony toons slapstick snapped ya out of the story, but the show was able to pull off funny and serious so very well.
In the end I don't have to like Animated like others do, but I'm happy the TF brand is doing well and getting good ratings. I'm not the target audience, so I can't fault the show for not being adult enough. Besides, that's what the IDW comics are for. :)
Oh and not a fan of the art for a serious look, but I do love it for a fun cartoony look. Not sure if any of ya check out the fanart section here, but people have done some dang good stuff turning old G1 into Animated.

    Yay!

    More great news!

    :lol

Probably right. So far I think it'll hold up better than G1 though (but BW is still superior)

    :lol

I think I have posted the same before.

Nowadays, isn't it easier (and better) to DL porn off the net? :p
