Honestly, I'm pretty darn surprised that the announced repaints-- i.e., not all-new molds that Hasbro needs to get as much money back on as possible-- haven't become HTS exclusives or summat like that.

 

I just hope autotrooper makes the cut.

Went out to TRU in Culver City during lunch and saw nothing but HftD restock. Tried my luck and drove to the TRU on La Cienega, and BAM one of each Rodimus Minor and Ironhide. Saw no Grimlocks though. Surprised the scalper had the generosity to leave one of each.

 

Maybe not, but he's only a head remold on an existing mold.

Whereas almost all the other deluxe's have already been released.

Exclusive voyagers would be nice. But if TRU would like to keep the deluxes, one can only hope that Autotrooper (using cybertron ratchet obviously) and Elita-1 (using arcee with a new head), make the cut.

 

But that's still a new mould needed to be tooled.

Ironhide's head is part of the actual mould for his figure. I.e the mould used for him and Ratchet are one in the same, only with two heads on the sprues, however only one is used.


Hasbro isn't producing anymore figures. The ones coming out in the US are already made and simply waiting around to be released.

 

According to the Almanac, the only figures left they would even try to release are:
Blackout, Mercenary Swindle (Black repaint of Swindle), Fugitive Waspinator, Thundercracker, Goldfire Girmlock, Mudbuster Bulkhead, Hydrodive Bumblebee, Wingblade Optimus, Vortex Blurr, and Toxic Oil Slick.

4 Deluxes (all of which are repaints)
6 Voyagers (3 of which are technically new)

 

Indeed, but hey, some of us have crazy wishes. I'm still hoping, despite Hasbro's unwavering insistence to the contrary, that maybe someday, even if it takes a decade or more, we'll see Powermaster Prime, Marauder Megatron, and Hot Shot someday. Either that or I'll win the lottery and make it happen myself.  

(Logistically improbable? Yes, but not completely impossible, and that's good enough for me.)  

All the same though, it's more likely the Autotrooper would be a Botcon figure in some form.

Hasbro confirmed at Botcon and even before that we'd be getting these figures as exclusives this year.

There's nothing unconfirmed about them.

 

I'm expecting to see someone post an epic battle between him and a scalper leaving TRU....anyday now...

Though it's worth noting that AFAIK these are the last confirmed figures for US release, however there's a small handful more Hasbro wants to release somehow.

Blackout is not planned for release still. Takara/Tomy has released a Blackout with an ever-so-slightly altered deco, but he's still unavailable in the US.

Voyagers Thundercracker, a Bulkhead repaint, Goldfire Grimlock, Hydrodrive Bumblebee, Wingblade Optimus and Blackout are produced and awaiting releases, as well as four deluxe repaints: Vortex Blurr, Merc Swindle, Wasp and Toxic Olislick.

None are slated for release, but have all completed the production process and Habro is looking for outlets to release them.

That's alot of killer stuff slated for release but never really confirmed as being solid. Looks like it's Takara imports for those im afraid!  

 

I hope at least we get Thundercracker, since Takara doesn't seem to be doing him yet (but they did do Skywarp) and Hydrodrive BB and Wingblade Op, simply because the Takara/Tomy versions have the awful shiney paint and Ops has random clear parts.
