Personally, if they decide the go the ultra detailed path again, I hope the do exact replicas of Floro Dery's original concepts be054bdbe7160545e3ffbc176e626e3d.jpg

Why did the director lock his tweets?

The studio mafia told him to stop spoiling his film and talk to fans, of course.

I wonder if he shut it down because of annoying fans, or because Paramount didn't want to risk him giving away anything? From what I can tell he was doing a good job keeping the story details under wraps.

Might be both. He still seems young in Hollywood and he was nice, we all know Hollywood isn't nice. I hope he didn't get in trouble for what he said, it's nice for a director to keep an update on his film, not most directors do it, James Gunn is another director who kind of give updates on his films. Also, apparently the film is greenlit which is interesting. This means Paramount won't cancel it, right? In case the new film fails at B. O.

I honestly don't like the part of humans being able to face transformers, that army add sucks.

I mean, zero humans is the preference but that won’t happen.

If by design style, maybe. But I don’t like the exact Floro Dery designs, since we’ve seen that they absolutely don’t work as actual transformers. There’s always some warping/growing going on, and it makes it impossible to make a toy of them.

The funny thing was that when the animated movie was announced, with the director and everything people were still complaining.

You know what I think we need? An animated transformers movie. I wonder if they’d ever greenlight something like that.

I love the idea of a post-apocalyptic Transformers movie. Although I think it would absolutely need humans. It would be really interesting to have Earth suffer the same fate as Cybertron...ravaged and drained of energy by the Autobot/Decepticon war. The Decepticons could be ruling Earth, and the Autobots could be helping scattered camps of humans survive until a plan could be put in place to retake control and repopulate/rebuild the planet. I would absolutely love that. But that kind of thing without humans would be kind of empty. It would just be Autobots fighting Decepticons in barren wastelands. And it would kind of make the Autobots look like failures for allowing humanity to die (their goal is pretty much always to protect humanity). I think the most interesting aspect of a story like that would be the Autobots helping humanity make a comeback.

I'm totally cool with humans. I just don't want the fuckin US military, who obviously have been involved in the production of most TF films to this point given Bay's close relationship with them, to be able to kill a Transformer.

I think the military being able to kill a TF eventually (after trial and error, probably developing new weaponry / ammo or some other kind of method, learning their weaknesses) makes perfect sense, but it should take more time than just... within one movie.

Wasn't that kind of the plot of Regeneration One?

That was one of the plots of Regeneration One, yes. But like every other plot of R1, it was just a rushed attempt to tie up all the loose ends of the Marvel Comic.
