We finally get to see the what-if scenario from DOTM with Cybertron being within touching/travelling distance of Earth.

    It's Baytacular indeed.

More interesting than what the actual film will be.

I always thought worlds colliding meant Cybertron and Quintessa, or Earth and Quintessa

Cybertron could still get reformed. There's two possibilities here; one is that Cybertron is destroyed and the future of the Transformers remaining on Earth is uncertain as they still have to deal with the humans, the second option is that Earth is destroyed by being transformed into the new Cybertron with the future of humanity uncertain.

Call me crazy but I think the latter might be the one that happens. Bay keeps talking about how this movie will shake up the movie franchise and be a final chapter while also a new beginning. Cybertron getting destroyed seems like it would only be a return to the norm aside from a few other things.

With Cybertron being the one to survive in the end, it would be a serious game changer and of course be the final chapter for Transformers on Earth and a new beginning. I mean other incarnations has shown that humans can live on Cybertron... somehow.

That shot looks soooo beautifully finished but it's not. The CGI looks really promising this time around.

As much as I am virtually numb to giant CGI spectacle, that's really, really friggin cool and ominous.

So like Earth is now permanently altered, right? You can't just gouge giant chunks out of it without causing massive environmental and economic destablization. (is that how that's spelled?)

Is that disappointing, though? Like, was there ever any hype of Cybertron being restored?

I mean, this is Bay after all. Physics to him is just meddlesome "rules" meant to be broken. For all we know the movie could end with both planets in tip-top shape. Hell, maybe Cybertron even puts a spit-shine on the ozone layer and readjusts the climate for milder summers and winters just as a parting gift.

Anything's possible when you don't give a shit.

Why do people keep talking about the CGI, like this is something new? Outside of the 4th, TF has had some of the best cgi ever, period.

Even the 4th one still has cgi better than like 99% of films.

Two worlds collide.....Could mean cybertron G1 colliding with cybertron G2....you know. Even though that Planet is actually hitting the earth with its continents on strings. It maybe a metaphorical phrase in the film that means something else

I don't think Cybertron (assuming that's what the planet is, which is very likely) is gouging chunks of the Earth's crust, at least not in this shot. I think the flames are simply from the tips of its surface entering the upper atmosphere. At least that's what it looks like to me. I could be wrong.
