Or you could common sense: Just because YOU like it doesn't mean everyone else has to just because it's a Transformers theme song.

I hate the song. I hated Mutemath's theme. I hate the new version of The Touch. But some people like those songs. I don't know why, but that's their deal, and that's fine. Just as long as I don't hear it, it's all good.

So it's the 'sleepy and new-aged' thing that troubles peeps perhaps.

    Interesting.

See, I think the whole association with TF and 'rawk'/'metal' has been overplayed over the years.

It seems the 86 movie is both a blessing and a curse in this regard. There was one rock-ish tune (which I think doubled for soul and jazz too in one episode :D ) in the G1 cartoon.

And then there was the movie. The score of which was - mainly - some form of progressive rock with a few hair band tunes chucked in there for good measure.

Ever since there's been a few distorted guitars here and there, but no (as far as I can recall) proper metal.

And yet it seems many are still hankering after it asif it were part of the very core Transformers concept.

Well when you get down to it, nothing suits giant transforming robots beating the crap out of each other like rock and metal music.

When I see Prime and Megatron in an epic one-on-one battle, I don't think Justin Timberlake. I think Metallica or Black Sabbath.

I'm sure Steve Jablonsky and Hans Zimmer thought the same thing when they counted their dollars for the TF1 orchestral score. ;)

I guess the point is, yeah the rawk has its place but it's not the ONLY thing that worksand it's certainly not essential to TF...

Cheap Trick was bigger than Beatlemania in Japan in the 1970s. Live at Budokan was a triple platinum album.

Well yeah, orchestral stuff works well, too. Especially for the movieverse.

If anything, combining the 2 can work just as well. Look at "Ghost Love Score":

Excuse me for a moment while I point and laugh derisively at you.

It was a hell of a lot better than having to sit through Black Lab's crappy "I'm going to groan the entire song, and randomly pronounce "Decepticon" with a british accent" version.

Well yeah - personally I think the combination works - but I still think we have to get away from the the suggestion that rawk is compulsory. ;)

    Overall Opinion::thumbdown

It's better than the version Deceptibot or whoever did of the theme for TF1, but Black Lab's remix is still better.

Although in fairness, I only heard 30 seconds of it, so my opinion of it may change if I hear the full version (still worse then Black Lab, though)

Hey! They just want you to want them. And even if you keep the flame going in your posts, they'll never surrender to you. They came from Rockford with a dream-- a dream you can't police, because, after all, they're all alright, they're all alright.
