I am surprised more people are not upset that Wheeljack is nowhere near the look of his G1 counterpart. Or did I miss all that?

I was so excited when I saw him in that prequel comic, his look was perfect. Even though WJ is one of my all time faves, I really hoped he wasn't that einstein bot... cuz... jesus. Between him and the wreckers, Bay needs to stay out of the ILM art dept and let them design ROBOTS, not robot caricatures of people.

 

That all happened at the beginning of 2010. For some reason now everyone's perfectly fine with him, even the people who were raging over him to begin with.

It's really funny to me that a substantial minority of fans think Hasbro is addicted to retools that don't even remotely make sense. I wonder if it's some form of passive-aggressive protest about there ever being retools at all, or a kind of overreacting pessimism as a safeguard against being disappointed by retooling. Whatever it is, it's weird.

If nothing else, observe that mainline of DotM has no retools from older lines whatsoever. On top of that, it's just pessimism for its own sake to think that Mirage won't get his own mold.

My dreams for this movie have been fulfilled. More Soundwave screen time, no Twins (if they really are in it or not, it sounds like their role is very minimal), SHOCKWAVE, the Wreckers look badass as hell (I actually like Leadfoot's design the most, even though I hate Montoya), annnnnnd Wheeljack (I've been wanting to see a movie-verse version of him since the first movie).

Here's to hoping for one hell of an awesome movie!

Never have been a fan of the Einstein bot design, I dislike it even more now that we know it is Wheeljack. I for one don't mind redesigns (I love Ironhide), but something about this one just doesn't sit right with me.

 

I'm in the same boat. I wanted to see the images to see if they worked in old elements like they did with Shockwave or if I'd not be able to recognize the characters.

Kind of wanted to skip the plot spoilers though because after a few spoilers I don't want to know every last detail before seeing the film. Which makes it tough to go into a spoiler thread and not get spoiled just to say damn it they took the pictures down.

 

Was anyone able to save the pictures of the new bots to a link before they were removed? I was too late coming here to see them and now I can't. So if anyone managed to have them saved, can you please send the pics to me somehow? I would really appreciate it, Thanks!
