Apparently it's going to be an exclusive to a convention in Singapore and is an unpainted kit that requires assembly. The link appears to be broken for the details, but some blurry pictures were provided.

According to an e-mail sent out, they are taking orders for the item named DFT-01 with a release of mid-July.

Agreed. They actually ended up handling it well in sending out improved replacement heads to everyone who ordered, but here's hoping that they make sure the product they get out will be right the first time.

 

Potentially very interesting. I would just order for sure but am worried about the total fuckup that was their City Commander upgrade.

BTW that kit was less than 50 bucks, I would hate to see anyone here swindled out of 100 bucks.

Nope. That was IDW who said Hasbro was going to make an official figure. Hasbro stated there never were plans to make a Drift figure on their side, or future plans for one. So between Hasbro and IDW, someone is not telling us the truth.

 

If I thought the toy would be really well done, I'd pony up for it. As it is (vague) and given the track record, I'm not about to toss the cash aside. Between a lot of desirable items out there, there's just a lot major of competition for big ticket TF items. I'll spend mine where I know I'll love what I get.

EDIT: The robot mode shots looks a little like "Brixshot".  

 

why bother making a new toy that could be awesome, when there are a million repaints of already sucky molds to be had? i mean... i hope they make a drift toy, but they often don't know what's what.

Yeah it has nothing to do with the fact the line Drift would have been part of was canceled/put on hiatus
